One of the most important conversations to have with an aging loved one is about money. The need for long-term care and how your family will take on that responsibility can be a difficult conversation, but it's something you'll want to discuss before they're in their 80s or 90s – after all, life expectancies are rising!
It may seem like now isn't the time because your parent still seems healthy; however, waiting until there's no other option could mean large financial burdens down the line from taking out loans against property or even selling some assets such as stocks.
