I have been going to Big Sky now for 4 years on and off while I was home from college during winter and summer breaks. I recently moved to California and I miss Big Sky so much! Not only is it a very well-equipped gym with all the machines, free weights, and cardio equipment needed for a good training session but the gym culture just does not compare to any other gym I have been too. I was there at 5:45am nearly everyday this past summer and while I usually kept to myself I still felt such a sense of support being surrounded by other early gym goers and it was very motivating. The first words I spoke everyday were a good morning to the person at the front desk and it always set my day off right. The gym culture here makes you excited and want to go to the gym even on the days when you don't think you have it in you. Also a big thank you to the front desk staff and the staff who keeps the celsius and barebell selection top notch. Nearly everyday did I walk out with one or the other or both. Also thank you for having my favorite flavor peach raspberry because they are so hard to find. So, thank you Big Sky for being my second home whenever I was in CT. Counting down the days till I can come back for a quick workout, whenever that may be! :)

For the first time, I feel comfortable in a gym! So clean, even though undergoing construction. I love that the staff is SO kind always and it’s nice and cool too!! I love that some of the cardio machines are separate from the weight lifting room for a less anxious experience!

I love this gym. Have been a member for 20+ years. I have joined other gyms but never cancelled big sky; dabbled in CrossFit for a few years, picked up a gym with a pool closer than the nearest big sky pool… but through all that, all 20+ years of my fitness life, Big Sky has been my home base. They have the best weights, strike a perfect balance between accessible to everyone but welcoming to serious lifters… Want to do oly lifts with bumper plates? Go for it. Want to just walk on a treadmill no problem. Going for a 405 bench PR? Someone will be happy to spot you. Great community, great locations, great home base gym.

My all time favorite gym! There is so much space and equipment. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The protein shakes are also the best way to finish a workout!

Update: the owners responded by restating their corporate policy, without apologizing for any of their conduct. For those who want a summary: we called you 19 times, and even though you weren’t here for a year we’re not going to do anything that hurts our bottom $$$. Just read our contact next time and if you don’t like it, go pound sand
We do not care about, nor support veterans. Under no circumstances will we use any discretion, or reasonableness with a customer. Our contract says we can keep charging you, so we will, for as long as we can. It’s all about the $$$ with us. Our customers could not matter less to us outside of the numerical bills they generate
Previous review:
I was previously a member but my membership was interrupted by military service and later intensive treatment at the VA as I’m a disabled vet.
During this time, my card was replaced. Focusing on my health at the time, I circled back around with Big Sky recently to explain what happened, that I hadn’t used the facility in over a year, and the reason was that I was away receiving treatment. I asked what I owed and how to settle it so I could come back.
Turns out, big sky has been billing me every month, even after my card on file was no longer valid. The bill was over $300. I asked for some understanding and to meet halfway so I could resume my membership.
Jasmine, who answered the phone, could not have cared less. She informed me I was already sent to collections, refused to discuss the matter further, and would not transfer me to a supervisor.
All I asked for was a little understanding and willingness to work with me.
Thank you Big Sky! Right in time to celebrate Independence Day too ??

The people are not only extremely nice, but also helpful and understanding. After a good workout, it's common to get grumpy, lethargic, or nonverbal, especially if you had good pre beforehand. When ordering a shake, taking a break, or just walking out, they're extremely responsive and very understanding of any conversational hiccups. At the same time, they also love to help any issues or questions you have!

Ill admit I was a little bias at first joining Big Sky after being involved with Farmington Farms for so long but, after a year of coming with my family I have to change my 1 star review to 5. My kids love coming to the kids gym and the pool in the summer and have also taken the tennis lessons. The staff has been lovely - they all know our kids and have also all been extremely caring and empathetic when my husband, also a member, recently had a cancer diagnosis. Gym community is important to us as my last gym was home for 15+ years, but we are very happy with Big Sky! Thanks guys!
