Nice clothing store with helpful staff but terrible web site. What was stated to be in stock was not. Also, the hours of the store are not available anywhere online.

I love Island Outfitters whether I'm shopping at the store in Fairfield, CT; New Canaan, CT; and/or Newport, RI the staff are always friendly and greet me at the door. The staff are always so nice and friendly. If I'm struggling with finding a size for myself or a family member they are right on top of it calling other stores to locate the item or size and will ship to you r home without a cost to you.

My wife purchased a Patagonia Snap-T from Island Outfitters. It happened to be a size too large so she went to exchange it for a smaller size. Before making the trip to Fairfield we checked the online return policy to make sure we would receive a refund if an exchange wasn't possible. The policy clearly confirms that if an exchange is not possible, a refund will be issued. Upon arrival, she was told that only store credit could be received and that they would not get anymore Snap-Ts in stock to exchange. They were also unaware of the online return policy despite my wife's insistence to look. They denied any refund and while they won the battle and retained the 100 dollars from my Snap-T, they will not receive anymore business from us. FYI, Patagonia in Westport gladly exchanged Island Outfitters' Snap-T. Stick to the larger retailers like REI and Patagonia. Better prices and far better service.

Love this store! Very convenient, and they have a great and varied supply of clothing, shoes and accessories. Always find something here!
