Didn't finish return until August. Will never deal with H&R again

I never write bad reviews but felt compelled to do so for our recent experience as a whole with H&R Block.
2/19/24 - Visit Fairfield office to meet with specialist. We had uploaded all of our required documentation online as instructed, which our specialist proceed to print out while we were there. 1 hour and 45 minutes into the appointment we had not even gotten through entering our information in and were told we could leave and he would call with questions as he prepared the forms
3/12/24 - After a few clarifying calls/emails, we get word our return is ready to file (federal plus 2 states). We go to the office, pay the preparation fee, review the forms, esign and provide banking info for our refunds; we were shown refunds for all 3.
4/8/24 - I notice we have only received one state refund of our three. IRS says "processing" still and the 2nd state says it never received our return. I call office to inquire about the 2nd state, they say they're looking into it. Get a call the next say saying they need my credit card number to process at $50 fee before the return can be filed. I inquire what it's for given we paid all preparation fees in March, specialist says it's "unclear" and he'll call me back to clarify.
4/11/24 - After several calls to both corporate and local office, no one calls back or is able to answer why the state hasn't been filed and why we now owe $50. We make an appointment with the Bridgeport office to actually talk to someone. They are able to see our specialist never released the return and confirm it's been filed. They did not charge us.
4/12/24 - Get a letter from the IRS saying our federal filing was incorrect and instead of a substantial refund we actually OWE $1000+. Specialist incorrectly prepared return. Make another virtual appointment with a different specialist to investigate. We talk on the phone, they say they'll call back.
It's 4/17/24 and still have not heard back from anyone. I thought I was doing my family a favor by having someone prepare our taxes for us, but this turned into so much more stress. The only information I got was when we physically went into an office and demanded answers. I was never called back aside from when our refund was ready to file, and turns out it wasn't even fully submitted for one, and was incorrect for the other. I trusted H&R Block to accurately prepare and file our taxes and they weren't able to do either properly. I will NEVER AGAIN use them and hope people will think twice in trusting this organization with their information.

I made an appointment online, when I got there for my appointment the receptionist copy my documents and had me sign up for there app.I sat there for 30 minutes waiting on the tax preparer who did not show up. I left and was told that she would call me the next day, that did not happen.I call two days later and requested they delete my information.I had an appointment with Lucille.
