Went to drop off the car and customer service was okay. I forgot something in the rental and went back inside to inquire about my item. The customer service representative literally looked over me and started speaking to the woman behind me. The woman had to inform him to acknowledge me. No apology or anything from the rep. Not impressed.

Absolute waste of time. They kept pushing me off to the corporate number and lied to me when I asked if the rate was the same daily. They charged me twice as much and then told me they aren’t able to access my receipt to explain! Not to mention their sketchy machines conveniently took my debit card two weeks ago and now they asked for my social security number out loud across the desk.Do not fall for their mediocre rates. They’ll lie to your face and brush you off. Save your money, save your headache, and go around the corner to Hertz.

Horrible customer service. I would NOT recommend anyone using this establishment (at least the one on 222 Post Rd, Fairfield). Reserved car rental for 9AM pickup, go to pickup and find out that there are ZERO cars available until after 3pm. This rental was for an employee and work purposes and was needed as promised when reserved. It didn't help when I called the representative showed no interest what-so-ever to assist with this mistake. I cancelled car & went down the street to Enterprise Car Rental which is what I would suggest any one else to do who is looking to rent a car...STAY AWAY FROM AVIS!!!!

Fairfield, CT! Didn’t have the pick up that I reserved, so they made me drive across town to get it when I arrived. They did not seem remorseful whatsoever, and didn’t even offer me a free day or a discount for my inconvenience. In addition, they do not have a dropbox to return the car, so I had to pay an extra day because I returned it at 5 PM instead of 4 PM.

Service is good, but there was issue with billing, luckily saw it, guy gave multiple billing receipts from 160 $ to finally after showing the receipt of the previous day the bill was brought down to the original amount less than 100$, maybe some system issue, but car was clean and almost new.

I’ve rented more than 30 cars with Avis’ corporate program. I came in with my Service Dog and Lisa Smith immediately started yelling at me and kicked me out of the store saying that “dogs aren’t allow” I didn’t even have a chance to say anything. I came back and they refused to provide the car despite proof work email (per Avis preferred policy)Discriminating against someone with a disability it’s not acceptable. Lisa definitely needs to get fired. There’s so many complaints about her.I’ll be following up with the corporate sponsor.

No customer service was asked how long I’ll need the car was billed for the time didn’t need that long as my car was fixed told me I couldn’t get the difference 1000$ for needing it for 48 hours the absolute worst never had this problem before avoid like the plague was not given the option to pay later or anything

We had to book last minute at Avis Fairfield after we arrived at Hertz down the street at 12:10 on a Saturday and they closed at 12 (pickup was for 12). Avis Rental price was ok, and car was new and fine. Staff could use some lessons on grace. 2 star because when we checked car out fuel was at 1/2 and I took a photo and guy checking us out agreed. When returning paper work said FULL fuel and they tried to charge us for. NOT filling it...another customer came in and had the same 1/2 tank discussion. Cars are ok, but be very aware when picking up the car and document everything very well to avoid being charged unfairly.

Had a great experience this past long weekend. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Thanks to Amed and T for the help (sorry if I did not get the names right! Sorry). Anyways they are patient and helpful! We will be back and use this location again when needed.Thanks and keep up the great work!

Do not rent from this place. The customer service is horrendous. We called to return a car that had damage and was filthy and this employee tried to tell me it was dirt. He didn't want to give us another car because he didn't want to do the paperwork. We left and went to the Westport location and the agent there was helpful and we received another car.

I've dealt with Avis many times before and it had become my only rental company that I dealt with. After this last experience I'm not sure how many times I'll ever be a customer again.Vehicle was not maintained properly, nor was a stain cleaned. Even though I chose the option to pay later Avis placed a hold for the entire forecasted charges as well as a deposit and some other fees. Language barriers also prevented multiple calls with the company from being productive.

I booked a car from Avis online. I booked a few hours in advance and got a confirmation/reservation number via email immediately after. I then called the location to confirm that there would be a car available when I arrive; I spoke to a man at the Fairfield location who told me "yes, there will be a car available". I drove an hour to get there, canceled my evening plans, and made it there before 4pm. A woman behind the counter told me she had no car for me. I offered to show her the reservation number and was told "I have the reservation number in front of my face, I don't need you to show me anything". In the interim of her telling me she had no car for me despite the confirmation via email and the direct confirmation via phone, a man walked in and returned keys to a truck. When we asked if we could just rent that, she said no. There were multiple cars on the lot that wouldnt be rented out until tomorrow morning but apparently we were not priority because we made a same day reservation. Had the website said this, the email said this, or the man I spoke to said this, I obviously would not have wasted my time, gas money, and pre arranged plans driving an hour both ways to their location. But there was no documentation anywhere in the booking or confirmation process that said we would not be given a car despite being confirmed for a car. I was told by the woman behind the counter to complain to corporate and that she can't do anything to help us. So now I have no car because we were essentially lied to when we called the office ahead of time and were told that "yes, there will be a car available when you come".
