This is a toy store gem that’s hard to find these days. It’s a dying bread. You can actually go in and find unique items, sweet gifts, and interesting toys. They have standards like Playmobil, Beanie Boos, and a book area, kid jewelry, Thomas trains, dinosaurs, baby toys, Haba, and much more! It’s worth a peak. Please support these locally owned jewels.

You will find an enormous selection of every category of toys and games and models and dolls and books and more at Toys Ahoy. You can complete all your child gift-giving here, and even find some classic favorites for yourself. Proprietor and staff are ever-cheerful and engaging with product knowledge and local lore. Worth the trip from anywhere.

A bag of Army Men and a Hardy Boys book. Just a couple of the nostalgic treasures I found at this gem of a toy store. I had such an amazing time at this incredible place in Essex, CT. Actually the oldest retail store in town. Toys from every decade can be found here, as well as modern gifts for all ages. This is truly one of a kind and I will be a regular visitor of Toys Ahoy. Thank you for helping me relive my childhood memories!

Vast array of toys for all ages. The gentleman running through store was exceedingly helpful and knowledgeableHelping me pick out age appropriate gifts that would be fun and challenging for my grandchildren. Complimentary wrapping for the holidays was a wonderful perk that I haven't seen in years and was greatly appreciated. Excellent customer service, even to point of recommendation of place to get larger version of a winter hat they sell there.

We used to come here before we had our son cause there are so many cool toys to check out. Now it is tradition to bring our son here every year to buy something. He loves this place as much as we do and it's hard to get him to leave. . Very friendly owners. Great place to get some holiday shopping done.

I came here to shop for a gift for a 1 year old. The owner came by and walked me through the toys for kids and gave me a few recommendations. I went on a whim and bought the items he suggested and they are a huge hit. I will definitely be back!

This for sure is one of my favorite toy shops in coastal CT. The store itself is on the smaller size which I prefer much more-it's navigable and not overwhelming. They have outstanding selection and the products are of the highest quality. This is a must see-not to mention the fact that the street is delightful.
