“Just finished up the year at Grasshopper Green for my youngest and I have nothing but praise for the wonderful teachers and the wonderful learning experience he had at Grasshopper Green! It was our first and then only year with the school, but I strongly recommend it to all who are looking for a Pre-K!”

“We've had two children be a part of Red Barn and they've left the school with confidence, independence, curiosity to learn, a love for the outdoors, and friendships they've continued well beyond preschool. When we moved to the area 7 years ago, we toured many of the programs in the area, and I left each one feeling pretty defeated that we wouldn't find the right place for our two children. Until I gave Red Barn a call and the owner said she would be available and to swing by for a quick tour. Well that tour turned into an hour! The care and dedication I experienced during that tour carried over into their educational programs and I knew we had found the right place. If you're looking for an amazing campus with open green space, adorable classrooms, and caring staff - make sure and consider Red Barn!”

“The pumpkin patch has been the most amazing daycare experience for my 3 year old. The teachers are so nice, honest and do so much with the kids. Over the last year, my son has learned a lot, been toilet trained and developed amazing social skills. Amazing experience- would recommend for any parents looking for daycare.”

“We are so happy to be a part of The Children's Tree community. The teachers truly love and respect all of their students. The teacher-parent communication is exceptional. I have two children in the primary program who love their teachers and the beautiful multi-sensory resources in their classrooms!”

“This is truly a unique High School where my two sons have and continue to receive an excellent public education.
Because of it's location, LOLHS can offer students many of the benefits normally only afforded to private school students. For example, because of the proximity of Rogers Lake, Old Lyme Rowing Association and the Blood Street Sculls Club, students have the ability to compete with (and on many occasions beat!) some of the most elite boarding schools in the country (2x National Scholastic Champions Girls and Boys V1 and V2, Silver National Junior Championships V1).
They offer a wide range of sports for boys and girls from X-Country and Fencing to Lacrosse and Soccer and the Wildcats regularly produce the highest number of Scholar:Athletes in the Connecticut Shoreline Conference (24 in 2015-2016). Other's will add all of the amazing sports results that this tiny school produces.
LOLHS's FIRST Robotics program - The TechnoTicks are a Hall of Fame team, one of the best in the country and the world and both of my sons have benefited from the incredible leadership and personal mentoring that they have received from being part of the program.
The school has an amazing music and choral program - they are the school that has been chosen to represent Connecticut at the Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary Celebrations in Hawaii in December 2016.
Just take a look at where the classes of 2013 - 2016 took up University places and compare those to others: Brown (Music), Cornell (Engineering and Biology), Harvard (Physics & undeclared), MIT (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering) Princeton, Yale (Mechanical Engineering & undeclared), Stanford, Bowdoin, Bates, Colby.
But importantly, this school is not just about getting it's students into prestigious Colleges. It looks at every single student individually and helps them find the best possible place for their aspirations and their abilities whether that is a gap year, a service career, a vocational career, a four year college or a research university. The School Counselors have always been happy to work with me to help my children come up with the best opportunities they can. I cannot recommend it enough!”

“My daughter started at the Carrot Patch when she was nine months old and is now part of the preschool program. Over the years, I’ve come to know many of the teachers, and I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re kind, compassionate, and interested in helping all of their students discover and learn new things. I value Suzanne and Nicole’s vision for the school which includes a strong outdoor component and child-led learning. My daughter loves being outside more than just about anything, and I’m so glad that her school environment helps foster her curiosity and love of the outdoors. Nearly every day she wakes up and says hopefully, “Today's a school day?” I can’t think of a better way to illustrate how pleased we are with the Carrot Patch!”
