“Alex is my go to followed by Dave. Trusted local small shop mechanics who specialize in foreign cars. Although I still take my 4Runner to the dealer for big things, everything else I go to these guys. Especially when I source my own parts, such as brakes, calipers, rotors, most recently a rear hatch actuator lock replacement, etc. No problem for them.
I’ve had a couple of bad experiences in other small shops around town here, particularly one shop on Main Street in Stafford Springs. Not with these guys. I have recommended Peoples Auto to friends and coworkers in (and out of) the area as well. No bull shit assessments, fair prices and good work.
I trust them with my cars and that’s (simply) what you need from your local mechanic shop, trust.
Would recommend to anybody.”

This was my first ever breakdown on the side of the road in trucking. My experience was was great. I would like to thank Sheila, who helped on the phone, Sheila was kind, genuine and helpful at 9:37 PM on a Friday night!
I would also like to thank the tow truck driver Matt, who was incredible and explained everything to me and Just made my first time breakdown a better experience. As far as professionalism and knowledge, they were both amazing. In regards to price they were really affordable, in my personal opinion, compared to the other towing truck companies in the area they were the most affordable company.”

I have been in multiple accidents over the years in my little civic. Most recently I was rear ended. Many people like myself have had absolute terrible experiences with OTHER local body shops (all with over 4 stars). After a previous repair job went terribly wrong I was very worried about using an insurance recommended body shop. I found Governor’s auto body through the estimation process which for my insurance had to be done with a preferred provider no matter who is doing the repair.
It is here that I met Carl. I expressed my fear with using non Honda dealerships and how my last repair went wrong. As we talked and he did the estimate he was super professional and was extremely transparent. He walked me though all the damage and all the places where he suspected hidden damage. He even told me how to handle the insurance issue with the dealership since they are not a preferred shop. He took the time to get all the information and take photos and even showed me the 3D model of my car and how he was plugging in the damage to generate the estimate. I was able to ask questions about the damage and we ended up talking a little bit about my cars design. (I’m an engineer it’s what we do) I left estimate in hand and knew immediately I was going to use this shop.
Carl was fully transparent on the time line and when I dropped my car off I got updates on the damage and the repair process every few days. When it was ready, we went through all the repairs and I got to see photos of the repair in progress. (I would like to note that they only work on a few cars at a time. They don’t squeeze cars in and rush cars unlike other places). I took time looking over my car and all the panels and clips, and let me tell you it was solid. This was the first time I have EVER gotten my car back from a repair and not found an issue with it (even at dealerships). I even got to meet the guy to did the majority of the work.
Overall I can’t recommend this shop enough. Not only did I get listened to (most shops talk down to me) but the repair got done to my expectations.
It has been a few months since the repair and I have included before and after photos. Don’t mind the dirty car.
