Jim and Rodney possess exceptional business acumen and are known for their generous demeanor and amiable nature. However, the vehicles they sell are not up to par as they tend to turn out to be lemons, subject to frequent breakdowns. In October 2023, I purchased a Nissan Rouge 2013 with a 50/50 thirty-day warranty, and additionally, procured a 4-star NVP warranty insurance for which I paid approximately $2,000. The first instance of repair surfaced 30 days before I made this purchase, and I had to replace the right axle while being covered by a 50/50 warranty, having incurred cost halfway amounting to $324.59.
Two months after replacing the right axle, the AC compressor gave out along with the left axle, and when my daughter took the vehicle back to Jim and Rodney, they wanted to charge a non-refundable $150 under the guise of diagnosing the car, even though we had already requested for the parts to be replaced. Given the circumstances, we were reluctant to rely on United Auto Sales, and thus took the vehicle to the dealership for repair. The car ultimately turned out to be a total loss, and as a result, I had to cancel the 4-star NVP warranty, leading to the deduction of the claim that had been paid earlier for my Nissan repair.
Now, I am owed $273.95, and this was Jim's response regarding the refund, “Rodney has updated me on your situation. The $273.95 you speak of is our commission for selling the warranty. That is nonrefundable and earned”. This constitutes a clear act of fraud, United Auto Sale neglected to disclose that I would be responsible for paying their commission when I purchased the policy.
Unfortunately, my situation with United Auto Sales is not unique. Many customers have reported similar experiences, and it has led to the question of whether such used car dealerships are adequately regulated. The Used Car Rule, created by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), requires dealerships to provide warranties for used vehicles, but it does not regulate the quality of the cars being sold. This loophole allows dealerships like United Auto Sales to sell faulty vehicles and exploit customers without consequence.
As a consumer, it is essential to be aware of the risks involved in purchasing a used car. I should have done more research before buying my Nissan Rouge and consulting a mechanic to assess the vehicle's condition thoroughly. However, this does not excuse United Auto Sales's fraudulent behavior. They sold me a car with a warranty and charged me for a commission without disclosing the latter's terms.
In conclusion, this situation with United Auto Sales could have been avoided with better regulation and due diligence on my part. It highlights the need for stricter rules and regulations governing used car dealerships to prevent fraudulent practices and protect consumers' rights. Meanwhile, I hope that United Auto Sales does the right thing and refunds the $273.95 Never received my refund...!

If you’re female look elsewhere. Care bought less than 6 months ago. New fan for air conditioning. Major problems with moldings around windows/ top of car. Clear coat peeling in several places. New exhaust system needed. Now think transmission is wonky. Wouldn’t take 500 off asking price even though mentioned to my male partner he would. Also we sell “ used cars” not perfect cars. Yeah, far from perfect, not to mention reliable. If you are female, in my opinion, STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!!

I had a very good experience with Jim the owner of United Auto Sales, East Windsor, from whom I purchased my 2002 Toyota Camry. Ŕadney also was pleasant to talk to. Prior to buying my car, i shop around. I visited used car dealership and even private sellers, but I couldn't make a final decision. Then I stumbled upon United Auto Sales online, and viewed a couple of their vehicles. Then I spotted this green camry, and viewed it a couple of times before I finally decided that I wanted to purchase it. Since I know absolutely nothing about cars. My nephew accompanied me to the dealership and test drive the Camry. I also went back and test drive the Camry myself. The car felt good, and sounded good. But even though my nephew and everyone suggested that I hire a mechanic. I felt that the whole process of finding, and having one visit with me at the dealership was too tedious. So I decided and went ahead and purchase the car myself. I decided that I would only utilize my camry locally. But as life would have it, here I am driving my car all over the highway, and wherever I need to go. I totally forgot that I'm not in a newer car. This car knocks out all outside noises. It has a very nice smooth ride with good handling. During the first few weeks of ownership I was listening keenly for engine problems,or transmission failure but it proves me wrong. Its a very comfortable ride, especially on the life threatening, crazy highway. My only issue is with the rear door locks and power windows which have to be manually open, I hate that. Not all used car dealerships are able to complete and process the hard license plates immediately without making appointments to visit the DMV, this place does. I highly recommend United Auto Sales.

We bought a car from United Auto wholesale sales on January 21st. We took the car back less than 30 days later. Due to a problem with the car They claim that there was nothing wrong with it. Now we are having so much iproblem with it. They will fix the issue, but I have to pay.
I truly believe that the car was mo checked before selling it. Otherwise, they would have noticed that something was wrong,
I feel that they use the fact that I'm a female to sell me a bad car.

Great experience from start to finish! I was car shopping and found A 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe this company had for sale. I worked with Rodney who was very nice and professional. He answered my questions honestly, and didn't make me feel "pressured" to finance through them, even though the other dealerships i checked out did. Rodney was also very patient with me during some "hiccups" from the bank where i got my loan as well, overall everything went smoothly and we absolutely love the vehicle!! I would def. Recomend this company in you're in the market for a nice pre owned vehicle !!! They were amazing to work with !!!

Got my car about 3 months ago from this place. They said they would “fix the problems” of the car before I leave the lot with it but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I’ve had to take it back to them almost every week because of old or new problems that they didn’t or “tried” to fix. My check engine light has been on this entire time and nothing has been done to get these problems sorted out. The owner Jim gets very impatient and rude when you question why the car isn’t being fixed or why these problems keep happening. I highly recommend staying away from this place because they don't care about the condition of their cars.
Replying to your response
Yes, I was happy with the purchase, and Jim was very friendly to me and my father, but after the first week of driving the car, the check engine light came on. Within the 30 days, I had already brought the car back 3 times to your shop to get it "fixed," which it never did, and then after the 30 days, I brought it back another 2 times and paid for only a diagnostic. When my father and I returned for the 4th time, Jim was very irritated and not cooperative. After dealing with his stubbornness, he finally decided to go 50/50 on that "fix." Within those 30 days, nothing was said about a cylinder misfire or an evapleak, but once it was up, suddenly we found all these other problems that I now have to pay for. The car may be driveable with a check engine light, but that doesn't mean me driving the vehicle isn't harming it even further. I also never demanded a "full cash refund." I wanted to get some of the money back to put it toward the VW you had and still do business with you, but you didn't want to "lose money." Even though I was giving the money back to you for another car, I don't know how that's "losing money." You sold me a LEMON car and knew it wasn't reliable. You even said, "Emissions are not due for a year and a half...we will buy it back from you then." you sold me a car that can't even pass emissions and go a week without issues. I also would not "pride yourself" on customer service because it's terrible, just like the condition of your cars. Also, its a 03 Mitsubishi, not an 05.

I love my new car! It runs well and compliments me perfectly! Jim and Rodney are very kind and easy going business men! I felt I was able to trust and talk to them openly about my needs and they even assisted me on how to check my oil levels and answered all my questions. As a woman shopping for a car you definitely want an honest salesman and someone who will not take advantage I totally will recommend this place to any one shopping for a quality used car at an affordable price!
