I opened an account with citizens bank and the person who opened my account was wonderful. However, so far, the rest of the customer service is rude and unhelpful. I just called the the citizens bank in East Lyme and the customer service rep told me that I needed to be there in person to inquire about something that didn't require me to be there. After I said that I don't agree that I need to be there for this info, she proceeded to let me know that she is the only one. I told her she could have just told me to call back later because she is the only one but not lie to me and tell me that I needed to be there. When I tried to explain, she wouldn't let me talk and told me that she doesn't want to argue when I was only trying to tell her my two bad experience in a short time span. I guess, she doesn't care whether Citizens Bank has account holders or not.I also was recently at the one in Niantic and I asked them to print the international wire transfer form so that I don't make a mistake when they gave it to me by phone and we agreed that when I stop by that they will have it ready for me. Once there, they didn't want to give me any print out.I was asked when I opened the account whether I will keep the account open and I responded that it depends whether they are comparable to Charter Oak Federal Credit Union which I have been happily banking with for years with zero issues. Most likely I will close my account as I don't need rude people to have my money. Even bank of America has more respectful customer service reps.Don't waste your time banking with citizens bank!
