The rep Rosanna they sent me too could not clearly explain why I did not receive the full EITC credit. She got very flustered when I asked her to explain and stated thats what the system put. After arguing with her for 10 minutes she directed me to a IRS table to look at for myself. Then explained that I am not paying all this money for me to figure this out and she finally came up with a number for how much it would be to earn the full credit but couldn't explain further. Also at no time was it explained to me how much each item would be then at the end I was scrambling around trying to come up with the payment. I called the East Hartford CT location she works out of to ask if they could break it down for me and I got hung up on after waiting on hold for almost 10 minutes. No one ever called me back. I also messaged her that I worked from home November and December and asked how much I could deduct for paying the WIFI to work from home. Never got an answer and this was then not added.

I'm very surprised to be writing a complain email towards the H&R branch at 9 main street East Hartford, CT. Before visiting the branch today at 4pm, I spoke with the front desk young lady to get info about filing my tax return. I had one simple question: "before submitting my taxes, can I check to see how much money I'm getting in return and is there a fee for that?" The young said "No", once you finalize it then it will be a fee depending on your tax return amount. I told her very good, I'm on my way. I got there 5 minutes before and inform the young lady that we spoke on the phone. The older lady that sit exactly behind the front desk approached me without introduction. No big deal, I informed her the same exact thing. Which was I want to see before submitting my taxes, can I check to see how much money I'm getting in return and is there a fee for that? She replied: "if I do anything for you then I will charge you." I apologized and informed her that before arrival to your location, I confirmed with the lady on the phone, who's sitting right at the front entrance. Before I can even finish my sentence, the old lady kept interpreting and was not letting me speak....I told her no thank you, I just wanted to check my tax return amount before submitting. She again interpreted and said who told you that, we don't do that here. I politely asked her for her business card and she refused to give it to me. I asked for her name, she refused to give it to me. She was shaking and talking loudly as if she was frustrated or having a bad day maybe. The advertising on website, any H&R locations I been to from wallingford to Hartford county inform all their costumers about the same thing that I mentioned early. About, submitting my taxes, where I can check to see how money I'm getting in return without a fee.I'm currently at a H&R block at 265 ellington East Hartford, CT branch without an appointment, waiting for a agent to see me. Both the agent and front desk woman cleared my answer for me and informed me; "Yes, you can see the amount of your tax return without a fee and if you like to submit it then it will be a fee". That's all I wanted to know at your branch but I was treated rudely, without a respect and they didn't even wanted to hear me out. I would've done everything online to avoid the hassle but I thought a live agent, in person will be able to help me a lot better. I'm extremely disappointed, specially coming from a customer service background. I felt I was not welcomed and I am not sure if this is a discrimination thing. I even called the branch while I was driving to get your email address and the same young lady picked up the phone and realized it was me so she hanged up the phone. So I called back and the young lady transfer my call without even asking me what I called for or saying "wait one moment I'll transfer your call". The lady she transfer to was I believe an Indian lady and she helped me out getting your email address.Thank you for your time and reading this email. I will look forward for your response.Have a good day!
