After a year and half grieving I am changing my review to 3 stars instead of 1 because I realize my Baby was old and his time was up. This place has good Vets but they lack empathy. Taking your $ is their focus. If you have an OLD pet and you know he’s just old, stop letting vets give you false hope. Just do yourself and your pet a favor and let them go/put them down in peace. Sad to end up with no pet and in debt.

The doctor is wonderful- his staff however is less than desirable! He really needs staff to match who he is as a person. I am now looking to get elsewhere after 10 years because of the staff!

I was updated several times throughout my puppy’s spay and she recovered quickly. We’ve been here several times prior and have always had a positive experience. Dr. Kane, Kimberly, Sarah, and Lucero in particular are wonderful, and very compassionate and competent in an otherwise stressful industry. Thank you for all that you do!
*UPDATING* to rave about this practice even more — Dr. Barrios is knowledgeable & thorough, Alyssa was able to draw blood from my severely reactive dog, Katie was so nice and Kim is always kind & patient no matter how busy it is! I will never go anywhere else.

The front desk was helpful but I was so upset with everything else, I Had a 13 year old German Shepard that went down hill very quickly. I call the Humane Society They would have taken her for 70 dollars but were not able to take her for 5 days. She was in too much pain. I called 5 other places that could not take her. Last place i called was here. Again the person on the phone was great and the desk was great. I never had to put a pet to sleep before, I heard how they do it and thought that would be the same here. Well, When i got into the "room" I waited, someone came in and said i need to bring her in the back and will be right back. She was brought back in and I waited. The vet came in with an assistant. I still had no idea what was going on. He was complaining that his knees hurt and she was too heavy so we had to do it on the floor. I was ok with that. He tried 5 or 6 time to get a needle into the catheter then gave up, the Girl that was there said let me try and got it in. She told the vet it is all set he said go ahead and plunge it in. At that point i thought she would get sleepy first then get another shot to finish. So i asked what was going on. He said it is quick and she would be dead fast. She pushed the shot in. her eyes got sleepy and i ask how long it will take. He said she is probably dead now, leaned over check her heart and said yes. You can go finish paying at the counter and we will remover her. I was not even sure how to react. the billing was a mess and cost was almost 400 dollars. I will never go there again. If it wasn't for the 2 ladies at the counter I would have given this 0 stars. I still not sure how to react.

I came to EHAC needing a second opinion about a tumor-like bump on my dogs leg. Within a few minutes the vet who saw him, Dr. Barriosnuevo, gave me his opinion on the bump and set my dog up for a surgery visit to have it removed. My dog had his surgery yesterday and I feel like the staff was so considerate of his needs (he is very dog reactive) and cared for him in a way that not only made him comfortable, but made me, as an owner, very comfortable as well. The tech, Carly, was also wonderful with my dog and I can’t stress enough how important that is to me. I’ve been having a variety of issues with my pets’ prior vet and felt stressed about relocating them to a new office, but coming here has been a huge wave of relief. I felt like my dog and his needs were important and my dog was even happy and wagging his tail! (Anyone with a nervous dog, especially at a vets office, knows that’s a good sign that the dog is happy with his surroundings). They even sent him home with a Certificate of Bravery! It’s such a simple and sweet gesture and it really makes a difference when you’re finding a vet practice that takes that extra step. They really and truly care for the pets in their care.

Yesterday was my first time going to this place and the treatment was truly top notch. Dr Barriosnuevo is an excellent Dr and the nurses too.

Been going here for 7 years. Always friendly and deal well with my anxious dog. Also, their vaccine program is an extraordinary deal.

I will be moving all 3 of my cats to a new practice after today. I called this morning on behalf of my mother who was concerned about her 14 year old dog's (who was also a patient here) suffering. We believed the time had come to euthanize as he was older and was no longer eating or drinking much water. I get that they only have one veterinarian on the staff. But frankly, at this point, the fact that they're so booked out that they can't fit in a euthanasia for a suffering pup that was a patient of theirs for over a week means that this is not a sustainable practice, especially not for sick or injured pets.
However, what's ultimately making me switch to a different animal clinic was the utter lack of empathy, concern, or compassion in the receptionist's voice. I made the mistake of having that one minute call on speaker and my mom lost it sobbing when she was told about the lack of appointments in a careless manner. She audibly wailed, "But he's dying!" No apology, no ultimate suggestions of where to take our dog until I inquired about them, again no sensitivity to what was happening. Her lack of compassion on an already difficult day was incredibly disheartening and I refuse to take my beloved pets to a practice that employs people like that. We took our dog to Bolton Veterinary Hospital and they were so caring when we called (having never met our dog), advised us on what to check for to make a determination on whether or not to bring our dog in, and then fit us in literally 15 minutes later. They were so compassionate during the euthanasia. Even a different company that I called for services and ultimately decided against, Lap of Love, offered more heart than East Hartford Animal Clinic. Your employee made an already heartbreaking day worse. Do better.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I bring my kitten and bunny. From the groomer to the doctor we felt comfortable and learned a lot. I recommend and will continue to return.
