Signed into my other Google account so I could specifically write another review of how horrible Alan Soucy Construction is. Do not put your trust in this company, they are shady and they do terrible work. The value of your home is on the line and they will tank it for sure. I’m a woman in my 20’s with no construction experience and I’ve already done better work fixing their mess than their crew. The job I paid them to do over a year ago is still unfinished. They will call you and tell you they’re coming to get the job done and then never show up. Does not matter how many voicemails you leave them. They are a true representation of careless and lazy business.

Bought my house and some work needed to be done, my realtor recommended these guys. Much like everyone else, I should've read the reviews first because holy hell this was a nightmare, here are some talking points:
- Never on time and there were ALOT of no call no shows.
- The timeframe I was given to do the work that needed to be done (some roofing and outlet work) was supposed to be 2 weeks max, let me tell you it was NOT 2 weeks, it was closer to 5 months+.
- You could never reach anyone except for a couple of the workers who I will say are awesome (shout out to Dave), they just work for a terrible person (I'll save my actual comments for the BBB).
Totally disorganized, totally unprofessional, but they have no issue coming to collect payments. Don't waste your time, way better contractors out there that do way better jobs.

Would not recommend him at all. Really wish I had read these reviews before we hired him last year, because every one of the negative ones perfectly describes his work ethic and quality. He and his crew were never on the same page, very poor communication all around, and needed constant probing to come back to work. He completely messed up our deck and ghosted us in the end. He never even returned for the last payment, implying that he knew how badly they screwed up. We are looking into our legal options at this point.

Very unprofessional many no call no shows used cheap quality materials . Textured ceiling doesn't match and is now flaking off . Drywall was left with large unsanded spots and covered in ceiling texture for me to remove. Owner came back and ensured me it would be corrected 3 weeks later and not a single effort so I gave up . Extremely disappointed spend your money and time elsewhereServices: Drywall repair

I hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to replace the chimney flasher in my house as well as the adjacent wood sheath and roof shingles. The work was performed but shortly after I noticed new water leaks. Every time it rains there is water infiltration that is damaging the living room ceiling. Upon further inspection, I realized that the wood sheath had not been replaced. I notified the contractor and he scheduled a day and time to perform additional repairs; however, he failed to show up or call to cancel. I reached out a second time only to be given a new date and once again, Alan failed to show up. The communication has stopped and at this point I have no confidence that he is committed to finishing the job.Service: Waterproofing

Amazing workmanship - our new roof was done one time - as agreed- excellent communication with the owner- a great team was on site! Highly recommend and very competitive pricing. We shopped around with seven different roofing contractors- and Al Soucy was so far the best price- the most responsive and he actually cared about our satisfaction. The best in glastonbury by far! A 5 star ⭐️ review. Highly recommend!Services: Roof repair

Buyer Beware: If you are looking for a contractor to do construction around your home I feel compelled to warn you about Alan Soucy Construction Company, because our experience has been a nightmare. Unfortunately, we have come to discover that Mr. Soucy lacks integrity, and honesty. On December 24, 2019 we signed a contract with Alan Soucy Construction. The project included the removal of a deck and the construction of a three season room which connected to the ground level via an outdoor staircase. The contract stated that all permits, materials; including windows, railings for the stairs and landing(s), paint, electrical work, siding, roof materials etc,, and labor were included in the price. Our added responsibility was the cost of lighting, fan, flooring and doors. The estimated time of completion was 6-8 weeks. Construction began right after the first of the year and we were told that work would be done in all kinds of weather excluding snow storms. Luckily, the winter of 2019 was very mild and work was not impacted much by weather conditions or the pandemic. It is now 14+ months later and the project is still not complete. The following is a list of overcharges and construction errors that have been made: 1 Cost of windows was to be included in the original contracted costs; contractor made an error in instructions to his crew resulting in smaller window openings framed out, and thus needed to correct this error. However, he also charged us an additional $545.00 to cover his mistake. 2. The agreed upon ceiling was to be a cathedral style ceiling, instead a gabled ceiling was constructed and to correct this error Mr. Soucy wanted to charge us an additional $1,200-1,500 more. We compromised and accepted the gabled ceiling. 3. The landing leading to the outside staircase was to be 6; X 8'. Instructions were given to the crew to build a 4' X 8' landing. This needed to be corrected. 4. During the last week in March we received a call from Planning and Zoning that told us our building permit had been denied, despite Mr. Soucy telling us everything was all set. An additional permit was required at the cost of $260, which Mr. Soucy required us to pay despite the fact that the contract states all permits were included in the original cost. 5. The original plan for the outside staircase required 5 construction revisions because Mr. Soucy's design was not to code: extended down 16 steps, required two sets of wider steps, had openings between risers that were too big, openings under the railings that were too big, and issues with the railings. 6. We had requested an upgrade of the railings which led to over charges. When the second landing needed to be added to the staircase to comply with code requirements, Mr. Soucy charged us $695 additional charges over the amount we had already provided. We discovered that the actual additional cost was approximately $160, meaning that we had given him $535.00 more than was needed. This project is still not complete and we have made the decision to end our relationship with Mr. Soucy. We have filed in small claims court to recoup the overcharges that we incurred throughout this construction project.
