I had to move my mom out of her apartment because she was very ill. It was a spur of the moment decision to hire a moving company. So I did what we all do - we search on google until we find a place that has good reviews. Bert’s was the first to come up in my search. By reading what other people had said about them it made me reach out and schedule a date. The scheduling was super easy. I gave a list of items and, Idona the scheduler, gave me an estimated cost which came in way under. On moving day the movers that came were prompt and super nice. I had lost my mom the day before so moving her things out of her place wasn’t easy. There was a small entertainment center that I couldn’t bring to my house so I was going to donate it. They put it in my car for me. Once we got to my home they asked me where everything was to go. They set it all up and asked if it was ok and if I was happy the way things looked. They even asked me if I wanted them to move the existing furniture in my home back to the way it was. They were super careful and they didn’t damage one thing. I have used other companies before and I have ended up with busted tv’s, sofas, mirrors etc. Not once did those companies ever refund me any money or even so much an apology. If I ever need to move again I would definitely use Bert’s. I want to thank the men that came out that day personally and I’m so sorry I can’t remember your names. It was an incredibly emotional time for me. You made a really hard day go very smoothly for me and I’m so sorry it was like one of the hottest days of the summer! Thank you again for your kindness and helpfulness.

The team from Bert Hill Movers was fantastic. Melissa was in charge of the crew and did a fantastic job organizing the move and ensuring everything arrived safely. None of my items were scratched or broken thanks to Melissa's attention to details. Moving is stressful enough, Melissa's crew made the day so much better.

Delivered, on video, fewer boxes than stored, loaded on video. Refuse to give box count of those they say they delivered. Refuse to see the video of boxes delivered or count or compare to count on receipt. Missing irreplaceable china, hundred years old and other historical pieces, all packed and sealed. Refuse to show video of workers unloading truck placing their gifts in their vehicles, including 2 14 lb. cat litters, a big pillow, a butane stove, to see if boxes were taken. Just keep saying they were delivered! Sent 2 not 3 movers, had to beg to pay $160 instead of $200. Didn't say they were sending 2. Many broken items, with photos, offended to give estimates to fix what they broke! Have to file police report and get JD to get tape to vet items. Want items back, not cash. Slept of floor for 6 nights because the 2 couldn't do the job. Cut my bed frame to get it to fit, totally unnecessary. Devastating. Just awful. Who can sleep. All of film, start to finish, but they won't acknowledge that or look at it or send footage. 100% on film, no self-report. Idona: they were delivered. But they weren't, and its filmed. *They* seem frustrated and refuse to help. Have to go to BBB and LE but don't wish to. Every day its put off by them, it's less likely to get them all back. Missing 8+boxes, but they refuse to refer to film or their counts, even. Shockingly selfish. Devastating. Zero earlier negative reviews.

We recently moved TWO houses of furniture to ONE house. We had a LOT of boxes, totes and furniture, some of which was quite heavy. Melissa and Jason arrived as scheduled at 9:30 am. Melissa did a magnificent job of backing the truck up an S-shaped 200 foot steep driveway. From that point until the truck pulled away from the new house at 5:30, she and Jason worked long and hard to get all of our possessions safely on and off the truck. They were two of the strongest and hardest workers we have ever seen. About midday, a second truck arrived with Anthony and David as reinforcements. All 4 people worked as a team, not only respecting our items and our hardwood floors, but also looking out for each other's safety as they worked. All of the crew was polite, efficient and professional. Although we hope to stay put in our new location, we would surely use Bert Hill Movers again and highly recommend them. The bill at the end of the day was most reasonable for the tremendous service we received. (Central MA)

This wasn't the first time I needed help with packing and moving, but it was by far the best! Melissa and Ant did a great job packing, then, along with James and James (?) worked very hard to move us - on a long, hot day. Their professionalism and work ethic was very appreciated! I would recommend Bert Hill Movers to anyone.

These guys are GREAT! David and Shawn were a joy to work with. They worked hard, not wasting any time. They were careful with everything, wrapping most things in blankets. I was impressed with how they got our King sized mattress up a skinny stairway, and how efficient the two of them were working together to get the move done. They were good at communicating with each other and with us, and they were encouraging when I started getting overwhelmed with the chaos that moving makes. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a smooth transition from one home to another. Thanks guys!!

I had a small move of large furniture into a small townhouse with narrow staircases. The three man crew professionally hoisted the largest items over a balcony railing to avoid using the stairs. They did not damage any furniture items,or, any interior of my townhouse. The crew worked efficiently and did not waste any time.....which could have increased the bill. When the move was complete, the actual time spent exceeded the estimate by more than an hour. The next morning, the office adjusted the bill in my favor without a complaint,or, issue. That was a pleasant surprise.....this is what I call a company with integrity and professionalism.......I heartily recommend them !

So relieved we found Bert Hill Movers. Just a small job, moving a baby grand electric piano up 2 flights of stairs—but tricky, as the box it was in was HUGE and very heavy. The crew was extraordinary! They were punctual, well-prepared, efficient, with great communication between them, and nice, too. Thank you, Paul, Kyle, Anthony and Andy! They also assembled the piano expertly, and all at a reasonable price.

We used Bert Hill movers to move from Stafford springs to Barkhamsted 4 yrs ago and I can't believe that it's taken me this long to post a review! They were outstanding! Very professional and went above and beyond every step of the way! We would most definitely use them again and have recommended them to many friends and family! Just a very professional company and a pleasure to do business with!
