I used to live in Branford, and the main post office there is so much better in every way.

I saw that this place has an average of 2 stars a and I think that is generous. We had a 930 am appointment for Saturday that we made weeks ago just to be told when we show up that they don't do that on Saturdays. You would think someone would have not made that an option on their website or at least called us so we didn't have to drag our kids out of the house for this. The guy that was working the counter who was dismissive and seemed to be out of it then said thar we could come by between 12-2 most days and they "may" be able to help. Holy cow this may be the worst post office I ever saw. Half the mailboxes inside are falling apart.Good news, if you are looking for a job where you can get pay and fully benefits and do the absolute bare minimum I got a place I can send you.

Made an appointment for 0830 on 21 Feb 2023 to apply for a passport. Arrived on time to learn that the passport guy wasn't there. Great!

Recently moved to the area and on my very first attempt to receive a package through USPS have gotten two “refused” notifications on two separate occasions for my package. When no one came to the door or even attempted to contact us in the house. This is getting ridiculous.

Frustrating when you order something based on the stated delivery day and USPS tells you they attempted to delivery, but your driveway or front door was not accessible. It's an unusual excuse since our driveway is always accessible.

I hate when my orders use smart post because it means Deep River USPS will be forcing boxes too big for my mailbox so that I have to cut the cardboard package to get it out without breaking the mailbox. Unless it's raining that day in which case they will leave it in a pile of wet leaves near the walkway (instead of under the dry part in front of the door) so that the packages are soaked through. It's like they go out of their way to be jerks like how long does it take to force the packages into the mailbox? Just leave it at the door like a normal person.

They, for some reason, don't deliver packages down my road. They just say, "Delivery Attempted" in hopes that they don't have to do their job and you go to them to get your packages. Ive been here all day. They were never here. Not the first time this has happened. No work ethic! And yet another package NOT DELIVERED ON TIME!

This post office has performed poorly for years. Want four $1000+ iPhones dumped in the snow two feet from your door? Want checks for your small business in the nearest puddle? Want apathetic responses to your calls of concern? This is the place. There is a solid reason people use other services. Whenever possible, our business does. If you really need good service from the USPS, go to Ivoryton. They work hard and appreciate your business,

This post office is in walking distance to downtown Deep River. Parking can be a bit tough when it's busy. Customer Service is quick and efficient, I'll reserve my opinion on attitude. They offer many services, P.O. boxes, passports etc.
