I have a 2015 Mini Cooper and it has aged like fine wine. This place has wonderful customer service and today they added a special touch to their service. A video review of my cars' visual inspection by Octavio Rodriguez. Good job guys.

On April 26th I was discriminated against at this location. I was denied the opportunity to purchase a replacement key. The parts person and his manager lied stating it is a federal law that the address on the title and ID must be the same. I was offered copies of the law. I returned to the location and requested a copy of that law. Neither the Parts person nor his manager were able to produce this copy of this law. They gave me a print out instead of what I would have received if I had of been able to order a key from them. Which does saying anything about an address. Please see the attached photo.

A month into owning the car I purchased from Fabrizio at this location the brakes, rotors and tires were found to need to be replaced and the engine is leaking oil. This is an extreme oversight of their ‘safety inspection’ that is clearly very poorly performed

I'm afraid that my experience with MINI of Fairfield County was (and continues to be) very unsatisfactory. I first brought my car to them in the early months of 2022 after a blocked drain caused serious damage to my car's electronics. Although there are closer repair facilities with the necessary parts, a longstanding corporate policy prohibits BMW dealerships from servicing MINIs and vice versa, so I was forced to go to one of the closest MINI dealerships (in my case, that was either MINI of Fairfield County or MINI of Ramsay).
Despite insurance approving the repair immediately, and a verbal promise of a two-week (later extended to three-week) repair period, the repair went incomplete from late April to early June. When asked for a loaner vehicle, given the unanticipated length of the repair, the dealership refused, costing me over $1000 in rental fees during the course of the repair so that I could work. Phone calls and text messages to the dealership from either myself or my insurance adjuster on several occasions went unreturned. When I went to pick up the car, the bill presented was several hundred dollars more than insurance had seen and approved (even with the copay accounted for), and when asked to explain the dealership representative simply waved his hand and said "That's normal." Over the course of the next year and a half, multiple issues have been noted with the car that were undoubtedly left over from its rebuild, including:
- The passenger seat not being bolted firmly to the floor
- Pieces of trim and bolts used to hold together the engine compartment simply missing
- The new battery, installed during the repair process, dying well before its scheduled lifespan
When the battery died, it left the car inoperable; because it was within warranty, I contacted the dealership to ask for a replacement. I was told that they would honor the warranty, with the caveat that they first needed to determine whether they thought it was my fault or not that the battery had died. To do this, they told me, they needed my vehicle to be present at the dealership. This put me in a very awkward position; obviously, I couldn't drive the car to the dealership, as the battery had died! With the dealership unwilling to pay for the tow, that left me the option of paying $250+ for a tow (even to the closer dealership in Ramsay) or else buying the battery myself, which, in this case, ended up being cheaper.
If MINI is going to try and retain its hold in the North American market, they need to *at least* give up this ridiculous policy that BMW dealerships can't service MINIs. They use the same parts.
And if you need dealership work done, I can't in good faith recommend MINI of Fairfield County.

Very positive servive experience at a recent visit to Mini of Fairfield in Darien, Ct.
It was not a scheduled service. I dropped the Countryman off hoping the service department could fit it into their schedule. The service department managed the issue and I got the car back same day.
Cara Rizzo stayed in contact and worked with me to get issued resolved. Thank you Cara.
