I take my border terrier, Baxter, here for his hand stripping and Bax ALWAYS comes out looking and smelling amazing! Its an hour away from my home but worth it. The owner is always pleasant, and the prices are super reasonable. My dog always seems comfortable when he goes there, which is a bonus because he can be quite high strung sometimes.

I hadn't used the Tenacious Terrier in several years, as my Havanese mix had passed. I saw a couple fleas on my Jack mix... where's there's one or two there's bound to be more so I called and the owner fit me in the same day. Both my Jack and Chihuahua. My jaw hit the floor when I went to pick them up. Of course they were fresh and clean, as he had always done a great job on my Havanese. But to me 35 dollars for each pup is extremely fair. Everyone there is kind, professional but I expected to pay more, as I hadn't been there in quite awhile and figured it'd be 45 or 50 for each of my dogs. I was pleasantly surprised.

I had an appointment for my dog on the day of the appointment. They text me telling me they don't accept credit or debit. Which would have been fine if they had given me advanced notice. I was doing this for my mother who cannot leave the house. I did not have cash on me. And I could not go to the ATM with her card. I believe this should be stated at the time. We make the appointments, not the day of the appointment an hour beforehand.

Love this place! Ernie is a wonderful groomer and did a beautiful job on my 9 1/2 year-old golden retriever, Buddy. Due to a long convalescence after some major surgery, Buddy was long overdue for his grooming. On top of this, Buddy's regular groomer is no longer able to work on large breeds. I took a chance on the Tenacious Terrier and I couldn't be happier. Buddy came out looking the best he's ever been. I was especially happy with the way Ernie did Buddy's nails. I can't hear a click when Buddy walks across a hard surface floor! I highly recommend Ernie and the Tenacious Terrier.

Ernie is a wizard with my cranky, extremely unruly-coated dog. Literally transforms him from scruffy monster into handsome devil. Extremely professional, they really care about and love dogs.

Ernie is a wonderful groomer who knows the breeds and how to make them look their best. Work is consistent and on time. You get what you pay for at TT and it's well worth the price. I have two standard poodles I don't expect to have to find another groomer. This is the right place. Loren Lessing

I write this review at my own peril, only because another positive review begets numerous new clients which in turn makes it increasingly more difficult to schedule this amazing operation.My husband and I, having moved from NYC have struggled to find a groomer. We’ve been run through the ringer with nasty local groomers to highly popular ones in the vicinity. When we happened upon The Tenacious Terrier, we felt like we found a gem, and Ernie did not disappoint. In fact, its rare to say that a groomer exceeds expectations. We live an hour away from Danbury, but I will continue to make an effort to have my very special precious beast groomed by one of the kindest, most professional groomers I’ve ever encountered. You should consider yourself lucky to have this establishment care for your canine.
