My husband and I were transitioning to a new job in Brewster NY. And house hunting in the worst possible time to house hunt. We were lucky enough to do an extended stay at Residence Inn Danbury. I can’t say enough about the staff there. Brianna was always giving love and hugs to my dog. In fact my dog would stop and look for her every day even if she wasn’t working. She would make sure all of our needs were met and was very efficient with everything we needed while we stayed there. Carmen the lead of housekeeping would take over and love on my dog when Brianna wasn’t there.. Miranda was the graveyard shift and with our senior dog we would make multiple trips out during her shift. She always smiled, and I loved chatting with her even in the midnight hour to catch up with her. She was so nice to us. Dayvana was one of the top people too there. We had less interaction with her… but when we did. Always with a smile. The staff is very responsive and helpful. When you are there for so long they start to feel like family and we sure did appreciate all they did while we were there for 3 months. Also the cleaning staff did a great job and the handymen… (unfortunately I can’t remember there names). But they were awesome too. Thank you to you all! Highly recommend if you need a place in Danbury.

My family suffered multiple bed bug bites in this hotel room 4 years ago. My family got steroid cream/antihistamines from urgent care. It was not pleasant stay back then. Hope all the customers have a pleasant stay.Rooms: Spacious and quiet

I had a great 3 night stay here for work! What really stood out was the insanely friendly staff! All across the board, from front desk personnel to maintenance staff, everyone says hello with a smile on their face. Room was comfortable and clean, and a solid breakfast as well. Just please fix the noisy fridges :)

Our particular room should never be rented. A EXTEMELY loud mechanism was located in a shaft wall inside the room. LOUD!!!Location of hotel was great with a wonderful restaurant, Chuck's, within walking distance.Walkability: Great restaurant next door, Chuck's.

I want to thank Wayne and Devana for their assistance when I fell. Last night we arrived around 9 pm. It was dark and raining. The only place we could park was in front of the entrance. The outside lights we dim and some weren't on. I tripped over the 8" ledge of the sidewalk, fell, busted my lip, and had a nose bleed. Lots of blood. Wayne was such a help and sure we got to our room. Brought up ice, salt water and extra towels. He had nothing to do with the room. It was filthy. Dirty carpets, greasy dust on doors, rattling fridge, and three highways outside the window.Wayne and Devana need to work elsewhere. They don't deserve this dump...and it was expensive.Rooms: FilthySafety: Poorly lit outside.Walkability: LOL!Food & drinks: Moldy cheese for breakfast.Noteworthy details: Dirty greasy doors and handles. Dusty un-vaccumed carpets. Old, shoddy furniture and lights.

First I do have to say the hotel staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. The manager at the front desk who checked us in, Briana, was very sweet, had a great sense of humor and showed excellent customer service and met our needs! She was awesome! The night maintenance guy was also very nice, and helped us with our TV and brought us towels. It is an older style hotel that do need a-lot of renovations, so when you book here you definitely have to keep your expectations to a minimum, even if your a Marriott “platinum member”??For instance, in our room 208, the bathroom door handle was so loose it was close to coming off of the door, and would not lock and close all the way. The fridge kept making a loud rattling noise louder than the AC unit all night long even when we turned it to the lowest setting. We had a fireplace in our room which didn’t work at all, probably doesn’t work in the winter time either. And the glass sliding closet door was off the track and couldn’t close all the way.The hallways were dark and dull, and some areas smelled like cat urine, while the rest of the hotel smelled like an old house, it’s very hard to describe the scent of this hotel. And some areas of the hotel including the parking lot had no lights at all or very dim lights.Indoor pool was closed when we stayed which was a major disappointment. Fitness center was open, the exercise equipment are outdated and even rusted but still working fine, although the door to enter the fitness center is broken so anyone can just enter the room without a keycard which is another safety concern.Rooms: The first room was not bad, but it had an old musty smell, like old furniture or an old house. Didn’t smell pleasant at all. Seems like all the rooms have an old smell to it.The room was clean though, bed was comfortable, a full size kitchen was a plus (even though we stayed 1 night) and outlets all over the room was also nice, although no USB ports. AC in our room worked nice and cold!Nearby activities: -Danbury Fair Mall- 2-3 minutes by car from this hotel. Very convenient location!-Stop and Shop- 3-5 minute drive- for those who want to do extended stays at this hotelMany other restaurants and stores are very close by as well!Safety: A lot of the parking lot pole lights at this hotel are out at night, the parking lot is mostly pitch black and especially if you park at the back parking lot, it’s so dark you can’t even see who’s around you, it’s best to find parking under a light pole at the front of the hotel. Some of the working lights are cheap yellow bulbs, they need LED bulbs. To management of this hotel please fix the parking lot lights especially the back lot, it is a safety concern for the guests that stay here!Walkability: Most of the places around the area like the Danbury Fair Mall and other stores and restaurants are mostly drivable, only a few minutes away by car, wouldn’t recommend walking on this road since there’s no sidewalks for pedestrians.Food & drinks: Hotel has free breakfast and a 24/7 coffee bar with a Keruig Machine which was nice. You may also make your own breakfast in your room with the full size kitchen since there’s many supermarkets in the area to buy groceries. There is also a steakhouse right next door to the hotel which is also a bonus!Noteworthy details: -The Indoor Pool was closed when we arrived on August 26, 2023, the staff says it’s due to the pool cleaners being on vacation. Very disappointed to drive 2 hours to a hotel that has a closed pool. Pool was not drained thankfully.-Some rooms have a brand new fridge with LED interior lights that doesn’t make any noises, but our fridge had an old GE fridge with yellow lights that kept making loud rattling noises all night long, then stops for an hour or two and then starts up again..

Definitely stay on the third floor unless you want to hear endless creaking of the ceiling due to people walking above you. Very cheap construction. They don’t build things like they use to. Room appeared clean. Friendly staff. Manager was great. Breakfast included is a nice touch. Unfortunately the pool was down for repairs. Oh well, I can live without the pool.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! It's horrible, so much is wrong with this place. We spent entirely too much money to basically stay in some long term hostel. The room was disgusting, super filthy with a ceiling full of mold in the bathroom. Everything was so old and run down, this is definitely NOT A 3-STAR HOTEL, it's more like what you would expect for a $40 junky motor inn.Besides that, there seem to be mostly long-term residents - lots of disrespectful moms and their misbehaving kids. Breakfast was chaos - like what you would expect at a daycare. Kids everywhere, running and screaming, like the own the place - well, I guess they kind of consider it home? Also the pool was full of kids by 8am, likely kids who live there.I really want to get a refund, it was a very disappointing stay.SKIP IT IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A DECENT EXPERIENCE.Stay at your own risk

This place was decent. Not far off the highway. Free breakfast. It has Chuck's Steakhouse right next door. The common areas have all been recently redone but the rooms could need a little refresher

HORRIBLE!! Stains on the carpets throughout both rooms, weird stains on the sofa pillows in both rooms. Opened one of the sofa beds, found about 3 bugs. Actual garbage and used bandaids under one of the beds. Dirty tubs, had to purchase more cleaning supplies to clean the tubs. One room the shower water stayed hot for all of 2 minutes, the other room the fixture was stuck on shower mode and while cleaning the tub, I ended up soaking wet. The tub clogged and wouldn't drain so I had a tub filled with dirty water for the night and couldn't shower. I bring my own bed linen whenever I stay at a hotel, these beds are not Queen size because my Queens sheets had so much room left over. Beds are so uncomfortable, felt like I was on wood. Both refrigerators made an extremely loud noise and the noise became louder in one of the rooms about 12AM, none of the TV's worked, both fireplaces were broken. I went and told the manager on duty, he told me there was nothing he could do because the hotel was sold out, yet I overheard him checking someone in that just stopped by and asked if any rooms were available. Corporate said I have to take it up with the Hotel, the hotel is refusing a refund, all of this and I am a Rewards member. NEVER AGAIN!! Breanna is AWESOME!! Only good thing.

This place is super disgusting, they didn't change the sheets for me, I gave my daughter a bath and took the towel that the house cleaner left us, and when I open the towel it had a yellow and hard liquid, I went to complain at the front desk and she acted like it's something normal for the hotel, this hotel has a good location but they are super disgusting, I wouldn't go back

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I checked in at 4 PM, and was informed that “the washing machine had broken, so there were no towels.” After having hiked 10 miles in the heat today, the first thing I needed was a shower, so this was not welcome news. I went up to my room and the door was ajar so I thought I had been given the wrong room. I walked in, and it appeared that the room had been cleaned. I saw there were three hand towels on the sink so I decided to use them for my shower. One of the towels had a dark black curly hair on it. So gross!! i stepped into the shower, and there was another dark black, curly hair on the side of the tub, and some kind of stain on the inside of the shower curtain. That was it for me! I quickly got dressed, went downstairs, demanded my Marriott points be put back on my card, and left. Stay far away from this disgusting place that is not cleaned between guests!!

We found our way here looking for a mid-trip stop on our route down 95. We booked a few hours before arriving. We usually stay at Residence Inns because they are pretty consistently clean and comfortable. There were lots of pros to this location. The biggest pro by far is that they have truly wonderful people working here. We were likely arriving after midnight, so called to let them know and updated as we hit a construction delay. The night staff were helpful, warm, and welcoming, ensuring everything was set for our late arrival. In the morning, the front desk clerk Brianna was helpful with a variety of little things we needed. Each time, she was warm, cheery, and embodied hospitality in ways that went above and beyond. Even the cleaning and maintenance staff went out of their way in the hallways to create a welcoming environment. The breakfast was solid. Good coffee, lots of choices like biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal with lots of fixins, yogurt, fruit, cereals, breads and danishes, juices, hot chocolate, tea, etc. There is something for everyone. Kudos for an impressive number of delicious hot sauce options! It has a lovely indoor pool that made for a great little workout and lots of enjoyment for several kids that we saw there. The gym also seemed to have all the basics. The biggest drawback: the mattresses on both the bed and pull-out bed were the most uncomfortable we've ever encountered at a hotel. All the mattresses had springs poking up and seemed like they needed to be replaced a decade ago or more. They were far from the usual quality at the many other Residence Inns we have stayed. Our room was very clean, but showing signs of wear. The hotel felt quite dated and seems overdue for a renovation. That said, the lack of renovation probably explains why they have such wonderful old-school, high-flow shower heads that made for a delightful shower after a long drive.

We had to stay at this play with kids over three months due to the house repair. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they make it feel like home and make you feel good! We all enjoyed their breakfast buffet with a variety of food every single day. They have keurig machine at lobby that you can quickly grab coffee from. Because it was around Christmas time, they even had Santa over and our kids made a good memory I truly appreciate it and I can see the hotel is trying to make a difference. They have a nice sized pool that is clean and kept up well. We are staying at a different hotel only a few minutes away from here where nobody says hi to you and still talking about how wonderful this place was.

For the price this hotel is not worth it yes it comes with some amenities like a swimming pool(an extremely small one at that) fitness center, the rooms are like studios with a full kitchen set up but everything is extremely outdated. The sink and bathtub were both clogged. The bathtub was just dirty it had a look of brown residue on the bottom. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable for 200$ one night stay just not worth it at all. And for a 100% non smoking hotel the elevator reeked like a pack of Newport 1000's. It's nice they accommodate dogs but for a $50 non refundable fee (per night).
