With low overall rating reviews, this review covers the layout and my walkthrough. Most of the items I found here seemed to be low in inventory, which isn't too surprising with retail today. I'm sure at one point years back, there was a lot more. The selections had quite a variety, with many brands that rang a bell and some others not. The men's department carried quite a decent amount which I was pretty thrilled with. I found myself checking some items one by one. For killing time, you can't go wrong with doing that. The number of employees found on the sales floor is crazy, none to be found with many at the register. It would be awesome to see an improvement with more staffing, for those who need assistance. There are three main entrances, two in the main hallway upper and lower, and one on the upper level at the food court.

If I could give negative stars I would. My daughter wanted ombré and this is the horrible job she got. Not to mention we were there for 4 hours because of the chatty hairdresser Emily. PLEASE NEVER COME HERE

If you walk into JCPenney, you'll notice that the racks are far apart and there's a lot of empty floor space....it kind of reminds me when I worked at Miller and Rhoads back in the day and when we were going out of business and the racks kept shrinking and the floor space seemed to grow! But....what's weird here is that when we came looking for some clothes, they had a selection that rivaled Macy's and Old Navy (where we also went that day) and we ended up buying more stuff here than anywhere else. That's definitely a positive...it's nice to see they're still stocking the store, at least in men's wear. The mall has already lost Sears and Lord & Taylor, so it would be sad to see another anchor close. On the less positive side, it's hard to find people who work here. There are centralized cash registers and the cashiers really can't leave that area because they have to ring up customers. I've been in the store twice in recent memory and have never seen an associate on the floor. For me, that's not a big deal but for others who might need assistance, it's a drawback. It's clear they're trying to cut costs by keeping staffing to a bare minimum but I think they might be able to boost sales if they had sales people on the floor. If you need some men's clothes, this is a decent option in Danbury.

I don't typically leave reviews but I had a great experience here. I recently went in for the first time and had my hair cut by Jessica. It was great! She was friendly, down to earth, took the time to listen to what I wanted, and even gave me tips to help style myself at home. The rest of the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient and the facilities were very clean. I would recommend this salon to everyone.

I got my highlights done a few weeks ago and honestly just love how they turned out, I was a walk-in and was very warmly welcomed by all the staff at the Danbury Fair Mall JC Penney salon. Michelle Fields did a fantastic job expertly taking care of my roots and making me feel so wonderful in fresh partial highlights, she covered my sprouting greys, I left the salon with a gorgeous blowout with soft shine and healthy hair. She also so very patiently did a shampoo wash combed out very gently and styled one of my kiddos hair as well, I will most definitly be returning again soon, very pleased and highly recommend,Bernadette Marie Keayes

Horrible salon!!! Rude reception staff.Drove over an hour for my COMFIRMED SCHEDULED appointment by the reception team that I had on 9-10-22 at 1:45 with Sonya. I get there and was immediately met with an attitude by the stylist Sonya. She asked me if I had an appointment. I said yes, for 1:45. She then stated "I'm finishing up with my client so you'll have to wait until I'm done. Waited until 2:05pm to be called over by her just for her to proceed to tell me she does not have enough time to do my full highlights on my hair and that id have to reschedule. Why did the reception staff confirm my appointment the Thursday prior if they had known she wasn't going to have enough time to do my full head. Very disappointed. She had more than enough time she just didn't want to! Don't go here!!!!!!Service: Hairstyling

The associates that work here should be happy and willing to Help The customers that come into the store, absolutely rude just remember you have you're shitty retail job because of the customers, you choose to work in retail maybe being a little friendly would come to so help not make the customers leave pissed and unhappy they bought something and it was an inconvenience for you to Use the register

Got my hair done at JC PENNY salon Thursday. When I tell you that I was so disappointed. I asked for a dark burgundy hair color and what I received was a bright blood orange hair color. Not only did my hair feel super dry but it looked so damaged. That whenever I brushed it Chunks of hair fell out. The hairstylist was nice I can't complain. But I was disappointed that I paid so much money to in the end come out with poorly done hair. I got my hair redone at the salon in the mall where this jc Penny salon is located today (Sunday) And I highly recommend them instead. I went there today and my hairstylist was not only nice but the price was extremely reasonable and I finally was able to get the color I wanted.

I was a first time customer to the salon this past weekend and I have to say my hair came out great but the service was not so great. My stylist was friendly and was doing well at the beginning of my appointment but about halfway through you could tell she didn’t want to be working on my hair anymore. She was rushing the process. Dropping things on the floor left and right. She put the toner in my hair and said about 15 mins for leave in before we wash it out walked away and came back 3 mins later and washed it out. When she was styling my hair at the end she didn’t ask or even listen to what I wanted. I wanted it straight and she curled it instead. When I went to the front desk to go checkout the girl was very very rude! She told me my total and I stated I had a 20% off coupon and showed it to her. She then got nasty and said “that’s for 1st time customer only you can’t use it” I responded and said this is my first time here and I guess it will be my last too. She put the coupon in and then had the nerve to say I’m not right for not tipping. Very disappointed in the customer service provided yesterday!!

Today I went in to get Christmas pictures at the portrait studio with a 10 month old celebrating first Christmas. While taking pictures my 10 month old was crying and sad. I tried to make her stop and be happy and she wouldn't stop. The lady told us that there was only 15 minutes to take pictures but on the website it didn't say anything such. She wouldn't stop crying and the lady couldn't give us anymore time and made us leave and we had to go somewhere else to get pictures for a 10 month old. Horrible staff the baby wouldn't stop crying and she had the nerve to kick us out because the time was over and the child is only a baby.
