Wish I could give zero stars. Walked into this GAP (Danbury Fair) although there were several workers and none of them were busy, no one greeted me, asked if I needed help, etc.... They all just looked at me (as I passed each one) as if I was an experiment of some sort. I had tons of money to spend, however, I ended up walking out. I will NEVER go back in this store. HELLO MANAGEMENT, Customer Service is EVERYTHING!!

I had an awful experience trying to return a skirt today. I had purchased this skirt at the same Gap location in the Danbury mall a couple weeks ago and it had been ordered online for me in my size by another associate. When I visited the store today to return it, I presented my order # and the cashier had told me that I had paid for it with a gift card and that I could only receive store credit. I had told her I used my credit card and that another associate from the store had ordered it for me previously. The manager on at this time was right next to the cashier listening to the conversation but not taking the initiative to step in and help. I saw that I was getting nowhere with this associate understanding my problem so I asked for the manager. The manager then also looked up the order, and said that I paid with a gift card and rudely asked if I would like to see her monitor for confirmation. I had told her I paid with my credit card and her response was “well I’m not seeing that on my screen.” She told me that I’d need to contact customer service myself to find out the details. As a manager, you should be the one resolving the issue and calling, not me. The store this afternoon when I was there was not busy at all and no one was in line. I did contact customer service myself while at the mall and it only took a couple minutes until I spoke with a representative who was able to quickly verify that I did pay with my credit card. I walked back into the Gap store with the representative on my phone and gave it to the manager. The manager then realized she had actually missed something on her screen and eventually completed my refund. It was a very upsetting experience. They treated me like I was trying to scam them which made me even more angry with the situation. A 1-800 number was more comforting than the customer service at the Gap Danbury mall.

Gap has changed their return policy to 30 days no exceptions! Even defective merchandise is not returnable after washing, very unusual policy for a chain store, staff here is not helpful so we would not be shopping here again.

The woman with the long hair in the Baby Gap section was incredibly helpful and is fantastic with kids! My 7 month old was starting to get tired and cranky, but this sales associate brought a smile to his face and made him laugh. We needed a dressier outfit for him and she showed us the options they had in store in his size. My son is tall, so we were looking for something in size 12-18. Some of the dress shirts had buttons that could be dangerous for a 7 month old. She brought it to our attention, which we were very grateful for. We ended up finding a polo for him and a lot of other cute items. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely return. The only thing that could be improved would be more sizes in stock.
