Another lovely hike along the white trail this round. These trails are short in comparison to others but stern inclines give a good work out. You never feel too isolated as neighboring homes are visible in the autumn months. Dogs are welcome which is always nice and the trails are generally well maintained. Some years back an obstacle course of exercise stations were installed at the start of the hike, to be honest, I don’t see much use for these nor many people using them. Those are a bit out of place.Playground: There are playground, jungle gym stations at the start of the hike.

It's just off the main road, but quiet and peaceful..... the "picnic tables" could use updates.Dog-friendliness: Lot of people walk their dogs here, but it's not crowded or crazy.Picnic area: Like I said, the picnic tables could use some revamping, updating... but still a nice little place to sit and relax.

My friend had never been to the Bear Mountain Reservation and I hadn't been there in years. So, we did what friends do - we went to a drive-thru coffee shop and took our beverages to the reservation. We never got as far as the hiking trail; we sat at one of the picnic tables next to the parking lot and talked, gabbed, chatted, etc. Before we knew it, 2 hours had passed. In this stress-filled society with its hectic pace, it's important, for your peace of mind, to slow down and appreciate what's around you. Bear Mountain Reservation is just such a place.Dog-friendliness: My dog used to love coming here. I believe it's mandatory to have your pup leashed, but they all become so tired from the excitement of being here, that I never had a problem with any canine.Picnic area: The only picnic area, of which I'm aware, is by the parking area. It doesn't sound peaceful, but it really is. There are 3 metal picnic tables, which could use a little TLC from the local authorities. Lots of shade from trees. The grass is well maintained.

Love this park, but, need to get people's attention. On Sunday January 8, in broad daylight, around 3:00 in the afternoon, at least 3 cars were broken into in a smash-and-grab style theft, and robbed of their contents while people were hiking in the park. Each of the cars had a side window completely smashed in (I mean, gone) and purses, cellphones, and house keys taken. The Danbury police had been called (they arrived when I exited the trail) and all families filed police reports, but what a wakeup call. The park clearly needs better police patrols, security cameras, or something. Danbury no longer seems safe.

Nice place to go to with a variety of trails. I went with my two dogs and they loved it. Make sure you have flea collars of course and avoid going to the fields near the entrance. We made the mistake of going into that field when we were leaving to avoid some dogs that were coming and and my dogs ended up with ticks walking on their legs. They didn’t latch on since both my dogs had their collars, but just be careful

Awful, overgrown w/thorny branches, very muddy, trail is iced over, very dangerous. Poor signage- people are arrogant and rudely outspoken about having their dogs off leash, no control. Bad experience in every way! Trip date: Feb 9, 2022

Beautiful hiking and views of the river. Make sure to take a photo of the trail map posted in the parking lot or download one before starting.

Nice easy trails in a forested area and a nice place to relax. Not very crowded even on a holiday weekend. The lake view is nice, but the side trail to get there is a workout.
