if i could give this course no stars i would. an awful old guy with glasses body shamed my girlfriend saying that she cannot wear a skirt and a tank top on the golf course. the best part about this, is that i have been here 3 times and have seen guys wearing tee shirts and gym shorts and girls with tank tops on while playing. i proceeded to tell him that there’s no dress code posted on the website because we had checked before we left. at no other course i’ve been to has this been an issue, even at private clubs. he then compared this course to a country club LOL. so if you want to have a nice day on the course with your girlfriend, and play fairways that look like pga rough don’t come here. BTW he tried to charge me 45 dollars for 9 holes and a cart when it should be 26 dollars as a student! unbelievable, get this old grump out of the position where he can ruin a great day

Solid course but a bit short. Considering the rain, held up well. Higher rating if it did not have some really "weird" holes.

If I was an objectophiliac towards anything it would be to this golf course. The ambience was exquisite as we strolled through the parking lot into the clubhouse. It was a little rainy but that didn't stop me and my partner from getting in 9 holes. We both ordered a bud light and the bartender was a friendly young gentleman, very cheap and good head retention. It was as if the divine man upstairs blessed upon us a miracle of the highest proportion, as soon as we got the the first tee the rain stopped. The feeling was better than catching a baseball at Fenway Park on a Sunday afternoon. My favorite hole must've been hole 7. It was very challenging yet it was more scenic than the Garden of Eden. Definitely a course I would want to go back to, it's going on the bucket list.

Archaic rules and unpleasant service.Called at 3:40pm to ask to use carts riding for 18 holes for three people. Person on the phone said yes as long as we got there by 4:30pm, then drove 30 minutes there for him to tell us we can only ride 9 holes but also I needed to wear a collared and sleeved shirt. My golf dress is from a golf clothing company. It seems incredibly archaic to reject someone for not wearing collared and sleeved clothing. While telling me there’s a sign that states the golf attire, he points into an inconspicuous corner with old golf bags, buried behind the mess is a tiny whiteboard that tells us collars and sleeves are a must. I’ve been to many golf courses in CT and MA and have not been rejected for my clothes as long as they were gold attire. I used to go to these local courses for the last 20 years but this course has always been a let down. Service here has always been rough and unpleasant EACH time I’ve tried out this course in the past. I tried it one more time yesterday and have no choice but to give 1 star. The rules here are too archaic and misogynistic. The course itself is just as run down as it first looks when you drive into the lot and walk into the clubhouse. The service matches.

Played in the sewer open there a work related tournament. The course is well kept .the greens were in good condition and the staff were all very friendly. I'll go back another day to enjoy the course at a faster pace as the tournament was quite crowded but a good time nonetheless.

A hidden gem of a course. You will hit every club in your bag to get around this challenging layout. Trying to overpowering this course with distance will get you in trouble. Bring plenty of golf balls and a change of socks for when you are done. You're welcome!

Great place to get out and play. 18 hole public course with a fantastic little beer tavern to boot. The staff and pro are always very friendly and make accommodations for short notice tee times. The driving range is full grass, which is good and bad depending on who is using it. It would be nice to have a mat area for those who do not play often.

People in pro shop are great. Course is in good shape with unique holes. Good value golf overall.

Nice course over all, but $19 for 9 holes is a bit much for what you get from the course. Also because a little river runs through most of property the grass and course is very mushy in most places.

A group of us play here in a charity tournament every June. This is a hidden gem of a course. Well maintained. Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. If I didnt live 45 minutes away, I would absolutely play here more often. Not too many sand traps. BUT enough water hazards to make up for it. A good mix of wide open fairways with some narrow ones where you MUST hit the fairway.

Played the course twice last week while up from Florida. Both times were very enjoyable. The fairways were tight and firm and the greens rolled true. What the course lacks in distance, it makes up for with peaceful settings, smaller greens and some quirky obstacles. While no one will compare this to Augusta National, the Skunk is one of the best values in Eastern CT and a great course to test your game.

Bursting at the seems with mediocrity. A true t-shirt and jeans type of golf course, with a nice layout and poor conditions. There are some cool holes on the back 9, but it’s a perpetual swamp. It is a golf course, but you can definitely find somewhere better to play.Could be super cool if it ever went under new management.
