It was not good at ShopRite because one of the employees was yelling at my grandpa because the guy, John he was trying to scan a coupon but it was not working so he yelled and he offered some money but my grandpa didn't take it and he also said "I make $3.25 an hour and i dont care." Also it was very horrible he was just being so rude to us.

The worst staffs I have ever met, rude and super racist. With "White" customers they always had great attitudes, my mother doesn't speak English and asked for help to checkout, staff member with a squared eye glasses rolled eyes to her and gave her a dirty look. Without helping at all, he refused to help my mother and decided to help the "White" customers. She tried to checkout, he told her to wait. Few minutes passed, he just stand at the counter and rolling his eyes. My mother tried to call again for help, he just pretends nothing was heard. Manager was also trash, horribly trained and terribly trained the "younger generation " with this service, definitely never coming back, and words would definitely be spread out around the whole entire area.

I left a review earlier today for Shoprite Clinton and picked one star with a lengthy negative review. When it showed up on the site there were 5 stars. This yelp site has been a nightmare and I'll be uninstalling it.

Do Not buy meat at Shop Rite!!! I purchased a Corned beef just after St. Patty's day. The sell-by date was May 14th. I had a month and a half to refrigerate it to go before cooking it. I had all the carrots, onions, and cabbage peeled and prepped, and ready to cook. I opened the tightly sealed corned beef and nearly fainted from the rotten odor. I had no receipt because I wasn't planning on returning it after holding it in my fridge for several days. Every market I ever returned a bad product to, ever gave me a hard time about it. They would let me exchange it, some even gave me my money back and a new product. Not Shop-Rite. Even though they sell a bad and lethal product, should someone eat it? They would not let me exchange it. They will never see me again. I will spread the word.

I've been shopping at the ShopRite in Clinton CT. for over ten years now. Always great prices and a great staff, EXCEPT for a woman named, "Heather" that works in the seafood department. ShopRite has a seafood stuffing that they sell, so you can make baked stuff shrimp, etc. The other two shoprites that I frequent in connecticut, always have this specific seafood stuffing. Every time this woman Heather works she always makes an excuse why she cannot sell the product. she told me one time that the stuffing is not for customers but it's for the fish that they stuff. And she always makes excuses why she cannot sell me the stuffing when another gentleman that works in that seafood department sells it to us per pound on a regular basis. On Sunday February 21st, I went to the seafood department Heather told me that she no longer has the seafood stuffing. I then approached the manager and told her my situation. the manager went into the seafood department went into the walk-in cooler, and took out this huge container of seafood stuffing. Which I bought for $6.99 per pound. The manager told me that that stuffing will always be available to customers, and make sure that it will be in the display case, for customer to purchase. Obviously the ShopRite employee, Heather was caught in a lie. And refuses to sell a product that ShopRite is supposed to sell to customers! To all that shop at the ShopRite in Clinton Connecticut, please beware of Heather she does not represent the ShopRite store in a positive manner, and really should not be working in that environment. She is brash rude a liar.. all fellow ShopRite customers, beware!

So crazy. Employees at this location are being forced to work - even with pending covid tests, and after having been exposed to covid positive individuals. This puts my community as a whole at risk. By shop rite neglecting their duties as a business to keep their employees safe, I highly suggest avoiding this location. I always thought this store was dirty and gross as it usually stinks like the compactor (I can attest - I used to unfortunately work here and in the summer the meat department would discard all the old meat and let it bake in the heat of the compactor so the rancid smell filled the store.) - so please do yourself a favor and stay away.

I have been coming here since I moved from NY a few years ago . I just want to say I always thought it was a pretty solid supermarket - but after Covid they really have my loyalty . They stepped it up from the online shopping with pick up , the courteous attitudes and recently replacing all of the refrigerators was a nice bonus . Everyone is nice as far as my experience they have even on multiple occasions went in the back to get me fresh produce when it seemed out of stock on the shelves . The kids look like they are working hard all through the pandemic so much thanks to all of you .

Since the owners of the East Haven ShopRite took over, this store has become a nightmare. Products I used to count on are gone, everything is in a new location, prices are higher, and much of the old staff are gone. There were only 2 staff on the front end this week during the afternoon- 1 on a register and the other running around trying to find things and man the self-checks, which are BY FAR THE WORST in any local store as they constantly malfunction. All very bad news when you're trying to get food in the middle of a pandemic.

Shoprite in general used to be my favorite store for my major shopping trips.......No More! This store has been a mess for several months now, since new ownership, you cannot find anything anymore. Where did the Bakery go? The employees are no longer friendly and definately not helpful anymore. Today at checkout, I went to three different check stations after suffering thru conversation of the checker with what appeared to be an off duty employee talking about new hires, to waiting almost 10 minutes in the next one for the customer to get back with the corresponding item for a coupon, to the speedy checkout with only one customer being waited on only to suffer thru another lenghty conversation between the checker and the customer. I finally had enough and pushed my cart over to the side and left without purchasing a thing and proceeded to the Big Y over in Old Saybrook, where the employees are not only friendly, but it only took a few minutes to check out with my items. I will never again go out of my way to shop at this store!

There prices are great and service is very good . I would question the cleanliness of the floors and all the debris laying around The floors . It looks like the cleaning is sub standard leaving brown water marks everywhere and papers and food items on floor . It looks like an outside market place indoors . It makes me question the cleanliness of the food and produce being sold . The parking lot always looks good with sweeping truck always picking up debris . I think more effort in the store would benefit the store and the customer base . Nobody wants to but cheap food in a dirty Market place . I think it can be stepped up a few notches .

I am new to town and had to pick up a prescription here for the first time. The pharmacist, Steve, was super friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my insurance and he offered to call them at the pharmacy while I was there and fix it. He spent 15 minutes on the phone explaining the problem and worked it all out with the insurance company. It was a lovely experience, I left with a smile on my face, and I will definitely be frequenting this location.
