I have used Martha’s business to help me train two different breeds of dogs beginning in 2002. A Mini Schnauzer and a Havanese. I have lost my MS to canine cancer. My Havi is now 12 1/2. I get remarks constantly as to how well trained she is. Smarty Dog gave me the tools, but I am the one who implemented them and still do. Thank You, Martha

Sounded nice but owner was unable to offer private lessons so kinda useless if you have a dog that is too excites me around other dogs to work with. It was also pretty difficult to get a hold of the owner/trainer.

I attended the initial lecture. It was very informative and I am looking forward to our training lesson.

We were in the same class as Marissa see her review down below. Same exact thing happened to us, our puppy got sick during class so we called to let her know we even sent an email. We were told by our vet that our puppy could not continue classes and so we were going to sign up for another one but guess what happened we never got a response. Terrible customer service. Don’t bother sending an email or calling for any reason doesn’t matter you will not get a response.

After doing some research, I decided to give this facility a try. I paid in full for 6 classes as part of an obedience training course. Halfway through the course, we learned that it would be a total of 5 classes, not 6, as originally advertised. We were told that we had the option to a) receive a partial credit back or b) one free class in the 2nd obedience course. Class #5 happened to be on a day that my dog was vomiting (have proof from the vet and per her instructions, no sick dogs are to come to class.) I called to report his absence and discuss my choice of options (partial refund) but no one picked up. I immediately went ahead and sent an email about his absence for the last class 3 hours before the class, and also included my choice of partial reimbursement for the course ending earlier than advertised. That email was written on 5/9. There was no response.Called and left a voicemail 5/15, still no response.Sent a follow-up email 5/18 and as of today, 5/20, I haven’t received a response and at this point it does not seem like I’m going to get one. So, unfortunately due to this experience I feel inclined to leave this review to share my experience.I am disappointed at how this was handled and ideally would be discussing this with the owner, but at this point I have not been able to reach anyone despite leaving a voicemail and writing 2 emails. It’s all about doing the right thing when you own a business, and when you advertise 6 weeks of training classes and only provide 5, you should partially reimburse a customer who has already paid in full for 6.

Love the adventure scape. I wished I lived closer, I would love to take some of the classes they offer. We will be back.

I think I am learning more than my dog, but that is probably the point!

Best of the best. Training above and beyond using technique to increase communication between dog and owner. Very clean and safe environment.

As a potential customer I was not very happy with the responses I received, I feel they were very rude from a business that comes so highly recommended. I tried calling a few days ago, left a message when there was no response with a phone number and a request for a phone call back. When after 2 days I still had not heard anything I attempted to email with the same request. I was told they answer emails with emails and phone calls with phone calls. Well obviously not since I still have not received a phone call back from my message on Monday. When I inquired about the best time to speak to someone I was told that I could call them at that moment, which was 4:30am. I don’t feel any of the responses were very professional to give to potential customers.

Classes were overcrowded and very loud ...per the trainer Martha..who has awful people skills to someone with hearing damage..!. Tried several times to call her to see if another time/day could be worked out but she refused to even return a call after we paid for 2 dogs training...only in it for the money and we never really did training just ran the dogs around..very chaotic..all we wanted was the last couple of classes that we paid for...out the money and the training..

This dog trainer is AMAZING!!! My dog was aggressive and biting. I went to a training center without success and then contacted my vet who told me, "You need Marty!". They were right. I have been training dogs for years but my dog Cosie was so difficutl to train and I felt so hopeless. After going through the training with Marty, my Cosie is so obedient and a joy to have around. I can't say enough good things about this place. Marty is amazing!!!

I recently adopted a dog- he was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas. Marty helped me learn how to behave in relation to Charlie to elicit the behaviors I want from him. My friend is a veterinarian & she steered me to Smartydog, eventhough there are other doggie schools that are closer to my house. Marty is personable, relatable, and down-to-earth. Support women-owned/lgbtq businesses!!!

Love Martha. Class is challenging but really helping my unruly girl and me. It's helping me understand how important all subtle behaviors are and how negative behaviors are getting reinforced accidentally. Lots of simple but challenging r excuses to build connection and therefore obedience for my little angel/devil, Pepper. Thank you!

Want to have FUN and LEARN with your dog ? Smartydog Center offers classes beyond Basic Obedience. I recommend the Flex Schedule to take advantage of this variety of classes. Flex Schedule means you can have different times to choose from to attend the classes. The prices are very reasonable ! The facility is pristine clean and adheres to Covid - 19 protocol. The trainers Martha & Lorrie are full of experienced knowledge and go out of their way to help you and your dog build the confidence needed to complete a task. Learning is fun at Smartydog for both handler and dog. I go regularly with my German Shepherd Dog Blitz ! They do offer puppy and basic obedience classes also. I highly recommend this facility !
