Dean Schulefand has completed two projects for me: an antique Belleek cup and a modern American ceramic bowl. In both cases, I was absolutely astonished at the work he did. I did not know that such perfect restoration could be possible. I just got my little Ceramic bowl back, and it seems like a miracle when I hold it. It has many fine, beautiful markings and was broken badly. Now it looks exactly as it did when I purchased it. I am absolutely thrilled.

Dean is a master. It's taking a bit longer than expected, but it's such a relief to see that our pieces have been so expertly repaired. Some of our pieces had suffered what seemed to be irreparable damage, but I now have espresso or ginger shot sizes, and repaired pieces that look like they were intentionally designed that way.
Totally worth the wait, go easy on it, you won't regret it. If you collect luxury crystal and are not afraid of stepping outside the box, ask Dean for his suggestions on how to repair your pieces, his work speaks for itself.

Dean is fabulous! I brought two glass pieces to him: a mid-century modern crystal case and a Venetian hand blown bird. The bird had one chip, the vase many. The work he did on both is absolutely marvelous: you cannot tell where the bird was chipped, and you have to know where to look to even guess that the vase was damaged. I highly recommend his work (and he’s also very nice to talk to).

We dropped off our pottery almost 2 years ago. He said it would be done in 4 months. I called 4 months later he stated he hasn't started yet give a few more months. Called again he said that he would get to it soon. Called back again he still didn't touch it. He said with an attitude pick it if you want. I said just please get it done. Called back again he said the same thing now its over a year and a half. I drove over an hour to give him business and another hour plus to pick it up. If you don't want to be disappointed, don't call him.

If i could give this business zero stars I would. I inherited a Sevres vase that had been converted to a lamp. Somehow it was knocked over and broke into many small pieces. I was heartbroken as it was originally my grandparents' (over 60 years old.). I brought it to Dean and asked if it was even possible to repair. I was given #2 options for repair with different levels of perfection and price of course. Since it was more of sentimental value i chose the less expensive option (which was still quite expensive!). I was told it would take a long time, (like maybe a year). However, After i left my lamp chards I never heard again from Dean. I tried to get updates and find out what had happened to my lamp. i went to the shop, which was always closed when i visited. I called, emailed etc to no avail. I never heard from him again. If he was unable to repair it, he should have let me know. When i called and emailed i never got a response, so clearly he was avoiding my call. I also never got the pieces of my Sevres lamp back. RUN AWAY from this business. Apparently, he picks and chooses what to repair and steals the rest.

Dean repaired a Vietri candlestick for me. The item was broken in two, and the material is a metallic glazed terracotta, so it looked like a difficult job. The repair is perfect, and I cannot tell the repaired candlestick from its unbroken mate. I am very happy with the work and will use Dean again.

I just received my repaired mug and ceramic box from Dean Schulefand & Associates Porcelain and Crystal Restoration and I am in total awe! The items were securely packed and arrived safely and I can say Dean did an amazing job! The repairs are wonderful, and I am so very glad that we used their restoration company and didn't try to bungle it with some homemade gluing attempt. The box is repaired so perfectly you can't even tell where is was broken. The mug's repairs are somewhat visible, but it was missing some little pieces. Now the mug doesn't have a chunk missing and it doesn't make me sad anymore. The talent, the skill, and the patience it must have taken--wow! I highly recommend Dean Schulefand & Associates because they repaired my sentimental items in such a professional manner!

I have a Herend bunny that I dropped many years ago. Its head had come off and the head was also chipped on the very top. I had glued it myself as best I could, but it had the chipped spot and it always bothered me. I found this company on line and after quite a few months the bunny came back and I am really pleased. Not only can't I see the chipped spot, I can't even feel it! And it is almost impossible to see where the head was reattached. Happy to give them 5 stars.

Though my experience was not a perfect one as far as the process, I am ultimately extremely pleased with the repairs done on my ceramic cup that has a high sentimental value. I sent in a picture of the damage and was given an estimate promptly. I mailed payment and cup as instructed. This step was a leap of faith since I had no idea if both the cup and the money would disappear, and the amount of money paid for this service is not negligible ($200). By the end of the promised window for fixing the item I had not yet received it. Upon contacting C&CR I was told my check had not been received. My bank indicated the check had been cashed. C&CR seemed at a loss, and I wasn't sure what would be the outcome. Regardless, the cup was returned to me (I don't know if they actually received and cashed the check) and the repairs are virtually undetectable. So all is well that ends well from my point of view. If you decide to use this service, I would suggest letting UPS/FEDEX pack the item professionally to ensure no additional damage. And it was returned to me packed even more securely than I had sent it. C&CR would better serve their internet/mail customers by letting them use PAYPAL/AMEX. I personally wasn't willing to risk more than $200, sending it off to who-really-knows-where. I would have felt more comfortable with the cash based transaction had I been personally dropping the item off at the shop and therefore knowing I could more likely retrieve it if necessary. To reiterate, the amazing repair allows me to continue to happily use this special item in spite of my own clumsiness thanks to the work of C&CR.

Our puppy knocked over our pottery 'Cowboy' requiring much repair. Found Dean and brought it to him. His estimated choices for repair were a bit expensive, but after picking it up, it was flawlessly redone. Would recommend his work anytime, but for the price would give 5 stars.

I sent in 2 pieces of Swarovski Crystal Disney figurines, which are now retired, for repair. I was unsure of the repair process, as this was my first time repairing crystal. I am very pleased with the work performed! I know where the pieces were broken but I have inspected them several times and can not see where the previous damage was. I highly recommend Dean Schulefand and Associates for any of your crystal repair needs. He saved me hundreds of dollars because there was no need for replacements!!!
