A lovely nature center with trails through woods, along rushing waters, birds singing, big old trees, and a warm educational atmosphere, great for kids AND adults ?Picnic area: Plenty of picnic tables!

Knowledgeable staff and beautiful grounds! I love that it is connected to The Children's museum. It is a gem of the area. Great hiking trails with nature signs to teach your child while moving your body
The Roaring Brook Nature Center is open year round with a full calendar of events for people of all ages. The Center's inside exhibits illustrate the changes in flora and fauna in Connecticut over the past 500 years and are fun for both adults and children to explore. The Center offers fantastic up-close encounters with permanent birds of prey, reptiles, and many other creatures. There is a window into the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic where visitors can get a behind the scenes look at exams on injured and orphaned wildlife. Outside there is a butterfly and exploration garden, wildflower trail, and over five miles of trails that are open daily from dawn until dusk. Visit the gift shop for scavenger hunts and activities for the trails!
