The day after Thanksgiving I was able to get an emergency appointment for an extremely sick cat. Dr. Stephanie James was kind, compassionate, thorough and answered all my questions. She also made all the arrangements for a visit to an inpatient setting.
Ten months after my visit with Dr. James, I brought my other cat for a routine wellness check. It did not go well. Dr. James is gone. The practice has automated just about everything: reminders about your appointment (I got two and they expected me to respond); a request that some kind of app be downloaded before the visit; even the conversation between the staff and the animal owner is now recorded and then typed up by the computer (be careful what you say!); and finally, and, for me, worst, a new on-line pharmacy service undoubtedly connected financially to the owners that forces you into an automated refill system even for a medication that you only want one dose of. At 72 I am more computer literate than many of my peers, but I feel Sand Road has abandoned us old-timers.

Dr Brittany takes good care of our dog and we trust her because she shows great love, gentleness and patience. Staff is very friendly and responsive. We highly recommend Sand Road.

I absolutely love the care my little ones have gotten there in the past and the future.They care about your little one's like they are their own. Dr Amy is a treasure as is Kate for the nail trims and blood draws. I can't thank them enough for all the loving care we received ❤️ ♥️ ? Thank you

Always a pleasure to come here. Easy to get in and the staff listens to any concerns I may have at the time. I think my dogs like coming here even more than I do and are always excited to interact with the staff.

The absolute worst animal hospital I've ever been too and it's the only one in these small towns I grew up in that isn't 30+ minutes away so they love to take advantage of people. They lack care, compassion and are only trying to make as much money as possible. They missed a tumor on my Nana's dog bigger then her paw but on her paw at a "grooming". She was charged full price only for us to notice she had a tumor that they never noticed, then they removed it for a 1000$ just to say it was harmless. 1 week later the dog dropped dead in the middle of the night. They charged an autopsy just to tell my nana the dog died of cancer but it was a very very fast acting cancer and there was nothing that could have been done. My dog ran away from a vacuum one day and bonked his head on the door, minor cut but needed 2 stitches - 500$. Then they wanted 400$ to remove the 2 stitches a week or so later. In other words this scumbag company is only looking to profit off you and have no problem letting your animals suffer or die in order to do so. If you think my story is bad they did worse to my friends the Hedman family. Now I hear old Dave is retired I hope he enjoys none of it and karma finds him and this terrible excuse of an animal hospital

We have used and appreciated Sand Road Animal Hospital for 25 years and Dr. Dave was extraordinary. Since it became "corporate" the whole emphasis changed from helping animals to an impersonal business approach. Our dog had seizures and we were told there was no appointments available and we should go to an emergency vet. Another local vet kindly made room for us and treated our dog even though we had never been there before. The staff at SRAH has always been wonderful, so I assume that the new management is to blame. This is my 4th dog at Sand.Rd. I have been a client for about 30 years, all of them excellent. I especially loved Dr.Sandefer & always asked to see him, but the other doctors are excellent as well.
