The Village Spirit Shoppe seems very similar to most small town liquor stores I've been in. The selection is small, but unless you're looking for a very specific bottle of wine, you'll find something to suit your needs. It's probably more expensive than a town like Torrington where there's more competition, but you're the one in Burlington needing some sort of alcohol, so let's assume a convenience cost. (Honestly, I don't know if they are even higher priced. The bottle of wine I got seemed reasonable to me.) The proprietor offered to help me find what I was looking for, and seemed happy enough to be there even though it was after closing time on a Sunday. Perhaps he sensed business was still coming! They're located on the quieter side of the plaza, sharing a building with Creative Concepts Kitchen and Bath, so there isn't any parking issue. The store has a cooler of beer, wall of liquor, and about three small aisles of wine. Mixers and non-alcoholic drinks are also sold.

A little package store in the middle of nowhere that has about every genre of alcohol there is to enjoy. Does it have everyone’s favorite? Of course not, but there’s something for everyone unless you’re JayZ or Beyoncé. Plus, the lady behind the counter is very personable.

Arrived at 7:55pm on Monday. Closed. No sign of anyone although listed as open until 8pm. I guess is I’ll drive to Unionville next time. Maybe staff shortages, but no sign on the door indicating that.

Very rude and poor selection , it’s worth the 8 minute drive to Unionville … negative 5 star

Came in for some cider, ended up with a bonus: an unasked for and unwanted political tirade. I wanted to be a patron of the business, not to be patronized too. This store location is very convenient to me, but I am happily never stepping foot in this place again if the owner thinks good customer service means making the customer clearly uncomfortable.

This is the only package store in this part of Burlington. It's a large town with few people so we can't get another one, but we need it. This place closes at 8 every night, isn't open on Sundays, and is substantially more expensive than any other place in the area. I'm not a customer who had one bad experience. I grew up in Burlington and have complained about this place since I turned 21. the owner won't sell to people with duplicate licenses, so if you're like me amd lost your wallet and needed a duplicate made, don't even go; they will insinuate you're under age even if, like me, you're in your mid thirties. Poor wine selection, and extreme overprice, like 25%+ more than anywhere in the area. Ive known for years this was a bad package store, but tonight I needed a small amount of white wine for a recipe and ran out to the closets Packy, this awful place, I was told I could break a four pack of the garbage white wine... completely abnormal for any package store I've ever been to. Even when I asked if I would buy other things to reach the $10 min for a card purchase, I was simple told "No" before he went back to staring at something on the wall behind me. The IDGAF attitude of the owners father (the primary employee I just referenced) made me leave this review. The level of 'I don't care about your business' I've received at this business, consistently for the last 15 years, makes this the WORST package store I've EVER been too. If you're not desperate, try the Liquor Lad in Harwinton or Package Square In Unionville. Both are reasonably priced and the service provided is so superior to anything you'll get at the place in the center of Burlington.

We contacted this store asked if we could get a certain malt? And was told they don't carry that. We asked if they would get it for us? They stated, no it waz out of season and they don't have the shelf space. I responded saying we will patronise your store plus purchase more. They're response was, "no try another store!?!" We spend at least $100 to a $150 a week on beer, wine etc! I guess it's their LOSS!! WE WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AND TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THIS POOR BUISNESS REPOUR!

The woman working failed to card my daughter and she walked right in a bought alcohol today. I hope the state shuts this package store down. If they can't sell to only adults they shouldnt be allowed to remain open.

Convenient since it's 2 minutes away, the owner is friendly and also a NY Giants fan so we always have something to chat about

Pros: Convenient Cons: Ultra pricey. I watched the owner ask a customer to leave as he complained about the prices. I usually make a stop on the way home elsewhere to save 30%
