“The Gift Cottage is a staple of downtown Bethel, which starts with the super cute and well-kept exterior. Inside are lots of well made gifts, most of which you won’t find anywhere else (especially the Christmas ornaments that have scenes from area towns — those are specially made for The Gift Cottage, and are hand painted!).
The prices are what you would expect for good quality items, many of which are hand made.
Be sure to try a truffle, but be warned: you may leave with a box! They’re out of this world.
Last but certainly not least is the staff - Joan, her daughter and the rest of the team are genuinely friendly people who clearly love the store, their customers, and take pride in curating unique gifts that fill their store.
My wife found several treasures, including a nice small purse and mosquito repellent scarf! Oh, and of course truffles. =)

They always have something new whenever we go and we love that it's Newtown! they've got a lot of artsy Newtown and Sandy Hook branded stuff as well as puzzles, coasters, books, charcuterie boards, throw pillows and tons more.”

I have had to call on 2 occasions to change a delivery date and modify an order and staff was very helpful and got everything done quickly and correctly.. no complaints, definitely recommend them :-)”

“As a lone consumer buying a single lamp? Well in comparison, the Noguchi store had incense. Which, honestly, inflamed the bronchi.
Ameico had no incense and a Noguchi chess board I've never seen before. Great service, the lamps a I thought I wanted and the lamp I bought. 10/10.”
