We use S&S mainly because they are on the S3 Healthcare system. I only get $100 a month in food stamps aka SNAP EBT. If it wasn't for the $140 in S3 benefits I get I would go hungry. I wish other grocery stores would accept my Healthcare food supplement card so I can shop around for the best deals.

I am so disappointed with Stop & Shop in Forestville Ct.
The produce was terrible. I bought parsley and the next day it was starting to rot.
I bought coffee and it was past due! 2 bags were 2 months past due date. And the 3rd was one month past due. They all were old and absolutely no fresh smell. Coffee is very expensive and I really want my money back but I had to open one because I was out. I know I should have checked the dates but coffee? I’m always looking at dates it gets very old and time consuming.
Cheap people won’t remove because they are lazy? I thought they got there money back for old unsold stuff?

Wish i could rate 0 stars for the awful "customer service" via the phone, which is the ONLY way you can reach anyone about lost Go Points. The system ate my 1800 points and I've called numerous times only to get the run around from the "customer care" people and still have 0 resolution. This last time they kept me on hold for 45 minutes before hanging up on me because the office closed. If I pulled this at my job I'd be in serious trouble. One of the only reasons we shop here Is for gas rewards. Definitely switching stores to a more affordable brand, because what's the point. By the way, update your hold music, it is about the most depressing loop I've ever heard.

About 2 years ago I was in this Stop & Shop. I had an automatic deposit of $4,000.00 into my checking account which my bank told me had cleared. I had a $200.00 food order and went to check out it it wouldn't clear. I called the bank and was told everything was good and to try it again. Didn't work. I asked the manager to put my groceries in the meat refrigerator and I would be back 1st thing in the morning with cash. She said not to worry and paid for my food order out of her own pocket. I thanked her and came back the next day to pay her back. She said that was unnecessary and for me to PAY IT FORWARD. WHICH I DID. I CAN'T THANK HER ENOUGH FOR HER WONDERFUL GENEROSITY. When I worked for Stop & Shop many years ago the manager did the same thing for a poor woman with six kids to pay for her food completely every time she came into the store . It's GOOD TO SEE A COPANY THAT THINKS OF HELPING PEOPLE THAT NEED IT WITHOUT THOUGHT TO THEMSELVES. My Main regret is that I didn't become a Store Manager for them when they asked me when I was 18 years old after I worked for them since I was 16.. I'm a Senior Citizen now with a 12yearolds sense of humor and can pass for 46. So I have fun.

I do not like food shopping but this store does make it nicer compared to the insanity of many others in the area. It is also the closest, making it my neighborhood store.
