Wow. Shocked. Just got off the phone with Bob's Sports Chalet. My wife bought a Patagonia micro puff jacket for me for Christmas. $240. I wore it twice. While nice, I found that it didn't keep me warm enough for the cold weather. I thought I would like to return it, if possible. So, I read the return policy. It was a little confusing as several sentences could be construed as being contradictory. One sentence says, "If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a refund." Another says the product has to be like new and in its original packaging with tags in order to qualify for a refund. Hmmm? Which is it? I decided to call Bob's Sports Chalet to find out. I told the representative that I would like to return the jacket either for a full refund or for store credit to buy a comparable coat. I explained that I had worn the coat outside a couple times but that no one could tell. It was *definitely* in like-new condition. He said that because it was a holiday purchase and within the 30-day window, we could return it. He said that there might be a restocking fee since it didn't have the tags but he never said it would be 50%. In fact, he added that if it was like new, and if I was telling the truth, that it would likely get refunded since I was within the 30 days holiday return policy. Great! I thought. So, I mailed it to them with a note that included the order #, the name on the order, and the reason for why it was being returned. I called again after it was received to find out the status of the refund. The same man told me that I should expect the refund about a week later. Great! No restocking fee. Perfect. I was happy - for the moment. I was happy right up until the moment that they subsequently decided to hit us with the 50% re-stocking fee. So, I called them a third time. This time they (the same man answered my call each time by the way) said it must have looked more used than I had said. That's BS. I asked if I could talk to anyone about it above him. He said "No." (Maybe there is no one above him!) He added that the 50% restocking fee is their policy. Well, if the policy was crystal clear, I would never have called in the first place. I would have kept the coat. Also, if that was the policy, he could have explained that to me when I first called. He could have said, "Because you wore it and as you don't have the tags, then you will incur a 50% restocking fee if you decide to return it regardless of the fact that it was a holiday purchase." But...that's not what he said. In the end, we effectively paid $120 and received nothing at all from Bob'sSportsChalet.com. Nothing. At the tail end of my 3rd call, I said to him, "This doesn't seem right." That's because I would never have sent the jacket back if I thought Bob's Sports Chalet wouldn't reimburse me for it. As far as I could tell, he didn't care. And there was no recourse - according to him. And there was no one above him to discuss it with - again according to him. In effect, a stranger on the Internet swindled me for $120. There is something wrong with that - policy, restocking fees or not. It's either shady or bad business or both.

Extremely disappointed! This place is pushy to make a sale when an item is not the right fit. One of my children already knew the exact ski boot model she needed, identified it quickly and bought it quickly at the store given it was a nice fit. At that point we thought we had a good experience... But my other child's need for a ski boot for her narrow foot resulted in the store clerk bringing her one poorly fitting boot after another with the owner then insisting we buy because her clerk spent time with us. I told her we were not buying a boot that does not fit and hurts my child. Owner was also angry about our polite inquiry regarding any price-match. How ridiculous! Every shop I know price matches and certainly doesn't ask customers who simply ask how dare they think of such an idea. This is a very rude place. In the end, we went to Alpine Haus where we learned about a boot that the knowledgeable staff thought was good for my daughter's foot. Interestingly, they did not carry it either, but educated us about that brand and helped us to find it online. You bet we went back to them for all our other ski needs.

Bob’s Sport Chalet is posting fake 5 star reviews all saying how “hesitant they were to order but and glad they did”. They are also removing honest reviews taking about the way they steal your payment information! Do not shop here! You will be scammed!

Great experience. I needed a Patagonia duffel within a couple days. I hit 2 day shipping, it was shipped out the next day, and I received on time. no complaints here! Bag was exactly what I was needing. I lost some hope after I submitted my order online and read some of these Yelp reviews saying they had issues, but the company held up and I will be ordering again.

These guys are great!! I too was reluctant to purchase from these guys as I had never heard of them before. I am in Texas and they are in Connecticut so I wasn’t quite sure if they were legit or not. After reading the reviews I was hesitant, but they were the only ones who had the specific North Face hiking shoe that I was looking for in stock so I decided to take the risk. After placing the order, I immediately got a confirmation receipt email and a few days later I received a UPS tracking number and the shoes arrived right on time exactly as described, the right shoe size and everything. After reading all the mixed reviews online, I felt compelled to post a positive review to help others in a similar situation to mine feel more at ease with ordering from these guys. I would definitely order from them again. Thanks for everything, Bob’s Sport Chalet!!!

I just ordered 2 pair of Under Armour boardshorts. Bob’s sent tracking immediately and my order showed up 3 days later. I did pay for shipping.

Purchased snowboard boots and bindings. 2 weeks later get email that they don't have the items and will refund money. Started to get fraudulent charges on my credit card. The BBB gives them a D- and are not accredited.

After seeing mixed reviews for this business online, I was a bit reluctant to place an order - but I took the plunge, as they had a hard-to-find sweater that wasn’t available anywhere else online. I’m happy to say that everything went as planned - received order confirmation soon after placing the order, got an update three days later saying that the product shipped (along with tracking info), and received the product two days after that (as well as a delivery confirmation email).

Customer service responds back fast. Received my order in 4 days from the time I ordered and was constantly updated. I ordered from here because they had the best prices on what I was looking for. Very satisfied.

Ordered a new pair of flip-flops with a shoe size that I normally wear. Received them from Bob’s and they were too small. When I went to return and exchange them I was advised that I would have to pay to get them returned back. You would think this information would be posted front and center on their website if it was a policy that they wanted to enforce.

I've ordered twice from here; both times got no shipping update for five or six days, and this time was told that they're out of stock. Conveniently, I got that email as we were headed to scout camp, where my youngest had hoped to have the hiking boots they're out of. This just doesn't seem like a well managed company, communication is severely lacking, and I'd frankly recommend shopping elsewhere.
