I had a really poor experience at this branch while working with Yesenia. We made an appointment last night and showed up on time. We had to drive close to an hour through a massive thunderstorm to get here due to limited branches near us. When we arrived to discuss our issue of a locked account, she stated there was nothing that she could do and that we should call the legal department. She said she called three times and got no one to answer so we were out of luck. We shared we had spoken to customer service and received a letter from Citi stating that funds were available to be accessed by going directly to a branch. We showed her a PDF scanned copy of this letter and she said she wasn't aware of that policy or process that we need to handle it through legal. We asked if she knew of a number for them and she stated she only had the internal staff number. We shared a number we thought it might be, which was on our letter, and she said that might be it. We later found out when we left that it was just the customer service line, which couldn't help us last time we called. At this point we were frustrated because she wasn't hearing us out, didn't really accept the policy written by Citibank letterhead, or tried to ask a colleague or manager for further assistance, even though she knew it took us a long drive to get there and the branch was pretty empty. No one else was waiting. She also made no effort in helping us find a direct phone number to the legal support team she was asking us to contact. We've must've been in and out of her chair within 10-15 minutes tops because she didn't really want to look further into it. As we drove away, we had to search online for this legal department number and somehow discovered it in a random blog post. And amazingly they answered within a few rings and were extremely helpful. I'm lost at how an internal number wasn't being answered after three times, but they answered us immediately. They were confused as to why the branch staff wasn't working with us on this as they stated this is a normal policy with locked accounts and exempt funds that should be accessible at the branch. They apologized and were really supportive in guiding us through the process. They asked who helped us and said they'd email them, include their manager, and concierge so everyone was aware that they should've helped us. When we drove back to the bank to speak to Yesenia at her desk, where we were just 20-30 minutes earlier, she didn't let us sit in her area. Again no other customers waiting. She had an upset tone and told us to sit in the main seating area, not her desk. She acknowledged that she was checking in with something on our issue, as if she read the email that was sent and was mad at that. We did what she asked us to do and returned because that's what we were instructed to do by legal. A few minutes go by and she tells us that there wasn't a manager in the branch to help with this that we would have to come back tomorrow. Then said the other option is to go to a branch ten minutes away. Not only were we frustrated from all the back and forth, but then we come back and there isn't even a manager there to approve the transaction. At no point did she apologize for not understanding the policy, not getting us the number for legal, or not being clear about a manager not being available. If she would've told us she wasn't aware of this situation or policy from the start and there wasn't a manager on site, but there's another branch near by that could potentially help us...we could've saved so much time and frustration. As someone who worked for Citi myself for four years, I would've never treated a customer this way. I am thankful that the Fairfield branch was able to help us, Karla was amazing from beginning to end and got us what we needed. We have nothing but amazing things to say about that experience. I'll never step back into this branch again and will continue to go to Fairfield.

The teller took care of me right away. I explained I received a check for closing out my CD with them and needed to cash it and she was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you (Especially for showing me the bathroom for clients)

The Branch Manager Sarah Lindade is an expert in the banking profession. She makes a difficult and complex issue one that can be taken care of through her patience, expertise and willingness to work with and listen to her customers issues. My husband had a very challenging situation which Sarah took care of easily and made what otherwise could have continued to be very frustrating a satisfying experience. Sarah should be rewarded for her phenomenal work ethic, professionalism and kindness to her customers. Kudos to Saint Sarah!

The reviews are extremely true. This branch needs to be shut down for poor customer service. I was denied opening an account because of the time that I came into the bank. I'm trying to have a relationship with Citibank and it is difficult because it's in Bridgeport. They need a better location with a top customer service representatives.

If I can give this bank less than 1 star I would! I have had this bank over 8 years and have had nothing but problems. A lot of fraudulent activity happened on my account I thought I did the right thing by opening a dispute and wasn't notified by the bank that it should have been an identity theft dispute instead. I went to the branch and they did absolutely nothing . Basically left it in my hands to deal with. I've gotten nothing but a run around. I was told to call to open a identity theft dispute and I can't even get someone on the phone that isn't from across seas and speaks English. If Citibank would have put a block on the account when I first filed the dispute I wouldn't be going through this right now. Pure negligence on Citibanks part. They do not support their customers, help them whatsoever when it comes to fraud and is all around the WORST bank I ever had. I will not use this bank ever again and I would not recommend this bank to my friends let alone my worst enemy.

I was involved with a ridiculous drawn out situation with Citibank, hours and hours on hold, bad connections, dropped calls, they were closing my accounts and had locked up six figure sums of money for two months. It was terrible. Thomas R. Kelly at the Bridgeport office saved the whole thing. He really went out of his way to fix it. This isn't a review of the bank, it's a review of that person.
