Hidden gem in Branford. Though directions will only bring you to the building, drive around the right side of the building and you'll see the sign. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced. They have a wide variety of mostly domestic woods, but are also capable of sourcing things for you - I picked up some black walnut for a project. If you're a woodworker of any stripe, or a contractor building with quality materials, this is the place in town for you. When you find a good place like this, you want to keep it open; pay them a visit, you won't regret it.

Under new ownership as of about 3 years ago, so older reviews aren't totally applicable here. This is a great spot in Branford for those seeking quality hardwood materials. I picked up some beautiful black walnut cuts for a project and was assisted by an extremely helpful and pleasant gentleman who couldn't have been nicer to deal with. I'd really recommend anyone looking for good domestic wood to check this place out, it's a hidden gem. Directions will drop you off only in front of the building, so make sure to drive around the right side, where you'll find the door and a sign on top of the building. Very worth a trip to check it out.

Out of the way source for fine wood. The owner also does some contract builds. Woodworkers should definitely check out this place.

Great place if you're looking for hardwoods. The owner Carl is a nice guy. Prices seemed reasonable. Much better than buying lumber at home depot for woodworking projects

I had never heard of this place, but a woodworking friend recommended them. I needed some specialty wood for a project, and the Wood Rack had some perfect maple for it. The owner, Carl was helpful and friendly. He cut and planed down the pieces to be exactly what I needed. A bit pricey (though I'm no expert when it comes to wood) but otherwise great.
