This is my favorite stop &shop near me because of their well stocked and organized dairy free and gluten free area. I follow a ketogenic lifestyle for the most part and I appreciate they have a lot of the staples of a keto diet and also the new items that are coming out saving me a trip to Milford. The store is always been clean when I have come and service is always friendly and helpful.

I very often shop at stop and shop in various locations. This store has a great variety of things, I like weekly deals because sometimes you can get something good for better price. They have nice selection of specialty cheeses and meats. Sometimes store could be cleaner, sometimes there's a weird smell. Some staff is very nice and helpful, others look like they wish you never asked them anything.

This Stop & Shop was clean and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most of the shelves were well stocked. Many of the specialty departments were merchandised nicely. The lines at the registers were too long to wait. I look forward to going back and especially checking out the details of the florist department. I needed a hostess gift, but I did not want to be late.

Yesterday 5/27/22 I purchased Lilly's Assorted Hamantashen cookies at the Branford Stop & Shop bakery that were priced at $4.99. (See photo). When I got home I was shocked to discover the sticker price was ignored and instead I was charged $6.49 which is an additional 30% increase, a $1.50 increase,. To increase the price on older items already ticketed and on the shelf seems unfair to the consumer especially in these difficult economic times. 5/31 Response: Filling out a Stop and Shop form or calling to discuss this issue is redundant, because you already know the nature of my complaint from my review. Posting the company's corrective action plan, ie) the steps the company will take to ensure this issue does not happen again would probably be of greater interest to the readers.

I thought shopping at Stop & Shop was the worst possible experience anyone could have in life until I tried to return bottles there. Paul Blart the bottle return policeman wannabe harassed me about having "too many" bottles. He made me return a few bags back to my trunk and wouldn't let me use a carriage to carry them. He's generally annoying and makes you wanna slam your head on the wall. I didn't see him bothering anyone else and other people had 8-10 bags of bottles. He seriously needs to get a life and shame on Stop and Shop for hiring people that treat customers that way. The machines barely function. Every time I put a bottle into the machine it gave me a five cent receipt so I went into the store with like 40 five cent receipts. The floors were so sticky and disgusting and so bad that one of the receipts fell down on the floor and became glued to the sticky floor beneath me. Everyone was complaining, swearing etc. I told the guy next time I'll just throw them in the garbage it'll be easier. Reason # 501 Stop And Shop East Haven is the most horrible store that ever existed. I will never return bottles at this establishment ever again. I'd rather repeatedly slam my hand in the door. Then the cherry on top I had to wait in the store 20+ minutes to return my bottle receipts. Yay I got 5 dollars, not even worth all that torture!

We left Big Y because it was too unorganized & stops took forever. We started our monthly shopping at Stop & Shop in Branford. There were only 2 open registers & neither were wheelchair isles We spent nearly $500 and our cashier Gail was visually attitude annoyed. I don't think I'll go back again.

At the fish counter today, I had to wait until the lady decided it was time to reluctantly ask me what I wanted. The answer was cod, were there any loins? only one wrinkled loin of suspect brown colour was on view. No she said, curtly. May I have 11/2 lb of cod filet? the response was 1.8 but given the lack of support at the counter, I took it. I think it is the first time in my long life that I have eater rubber. I am a keen, and careful, cook. Nothing wrong with my method. Fortunately, I had also cooked some very nice vegetables. It became a vegetarian meal. No more shopping for fish at Stop and Shop!

I have been using their pick up services but will need to go back to Big Y & Instcart. Instacart shoppers let me in on making replacements. I have not been happy with most of the replacement options, some don't even make sense. It was a good idea that needs tweaking to be successful

This is your basic overpriced New England grocery store and nothing special is mostly the reason. It has some gas, app, and sale incentives which I've noticed is trend in the area. Best to shop the sales and find your bulk elsewhere unless price is no issue. It's a convenient location along the highway and nearby diner/gas stations so is a good rest and restock place for those on the highway. This review reason for such a low rating is all due to staff. We picked up a few items and got checked out with self checkout. I had a question and needed help with the card/app reward. It must have been shift change or something because we approached a staff for help. She said to wait right by counter and she would help us out. And we waited. We kept waiting as she and I counted 5 other staff (some in uniform others not but they were big customers) completely ignored us. Going so far to step around us, not look at us, or have loud conversations in front of us as we waited. I contemplated just leaving at least 3 times. When she did help us, she made me uncomfortable as I showed her the app and she took my phone and moved it away from me. I disliked having someone take my phone and just leave it on her counter. Since it was no longer logged in or useful she just left it out of both of our reach. In the end, she didn't even fix or do anything to help. She gave us another random card but nothing was resolved. So 1 Star for actually helping and general conduct as first time customers may not be any more customers

Yesterday, I had a terrible experience dealing with two supposed managers and the Solution Center. Generally, the cashiers and people working at the butcher, fish and deli counters are nice. However, I was treated very poorly by other staff members. I had a problem with a gift card and the solution center individual made no eye contact with me and when she did, it was to roll her eyes about my issue. The other manager offered me "NO" solutions and the 3rd manager ridiculed me regarding the cost of my issue and strode off in two tantrums. I felt mistreated and under-valued. I left my empty cart and went to Big Y. I WILL NEVER, EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!

The worst!!! Every time I get an order, they are out of something! You do not get to choose the same as you can, like in store. For example, acetaminophen, only Tylenol brand is available with Peapod!! Prices are jacked up too! On hold for the longest time for online help. Only use this service if I absolutely HAVE TO.
