I've had "Frogeye" (formerly "Meyer") 3 years and I'm still in love with it. When I bought it, I okayed most suggested upgrades and glad that I did. It's a joy to drive and at 73, I'm still limber enough to make getting in and out look easy.

I should start by saying I have a passion for vintage British cars. I have owned at least one since 1967. Over the last couple of years that passion has exploded. A good friend told me about “The Bugeye Guy” in Branford Ct. I have now purchased 3 cars from David. He is a genius with these wonderful old vehicles. He restores and upgrades them , they are reliable, fun, beautiful machines. His specialty is the Austin Healy Bugeye of course. He has now sold 400 of them. If you are looking for a vintage vehicle David is the guy. If you have one then consider letting him go through it.So I should introduce, Floyd, big Uncle M (Moxie), and Stretch.

When I started to search for an Austin Healey Sprite I went to many different website's and could not find one that felt trustworthy. That’s when I found Bugeyeguy, who is renowned as the top authority for bugeye sprites in the United States with 400 renovations. I purchased one of his super sprites with all the best upgrades, super charger, 5 speed, and many other upgrades.I found the best feature of going through Bugeyeguy’s shop is, if you have a problem with a purchased car they will support you with solutions and parts. They don’t forget about you because you become part of their Sprite family.

I bought a beautiful 1960 bugeye from David and the process couldn't have been easier. When I picked my car, we talked and made a punch list of recommendations, needs, and wants. The whole team was only an email, text, or phone call away to answer any questions I had during the process. We even went down to visit our new car in person. I'm confident I can reach out with any issue and one of the bugeyeguys will get back to me quickly with any answers or help I need.

Very happy with our purchase of a 1958 Bugeye. All was as described, and the purchase follow up calls from them was great. Also, any time we had tech questions, everyone was very interested in providing details to ensure the additional mods and upgrades we were making worked right.

I recently acquired a 1960 Bugeye Sprite from Bugeyeguys. The Bugeye was as advertised. It checked all the boxes for me. I received a build sheet on what the previous owner had completed on the Bugeye. I did have a few changes made to the Bugeye. It had a black grill without an eyebrow, changed to a stock grill. Gearshift knob changed to stock. Added an airhorn, which I highly recommend. Overall, it was a very good experience. Bugeyeguys is definitely the place for anything Bugeye.

The Bugeyeguys Team are true professionals with a focus on the Austin Healey mark, especially the Sprite. I purchased a 1960 Sprite project earlier this year from the Bugeyeguys and launched a complete restoration. At every step of the project the Branfort-based team was just a call, text, or email away. Moreover, the content available on their website I found exceptional. Many upgraded components available from the Bugeyeguys parts page were included in the build. Noting their extensive experience working on just one vehicle led to my preference in ordering from their team and a trouble-free assembly of the 63-year old Sprite. Timely delivery, professional packaging, accurate shipments, and the correct components for the application are what they offer to enthusiasts. Attached are a photo of "Fritz" when he arrived in January and the recently completed project.Thank you David, Nick, Sam, and Rob!

I am the proud new owner of a 1959 Austin Healey Sprite thanks to David 'The Bugeye Guy'. David and his team are clearly experts in these cars having now sold almost 400 in the last 15 years. I was customer 393 and purchased 'Sawyer' who is a survivor car with a wonderful history that took him to 14 countries in Europe, 30 US States and 5 Canadian Provinces. I feel honored to be his 3rd owner and look forward to our future adventures together. David was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I established a level of confidence and trust in him from the first time we spoke. With out a doubt the best car buying experience I have had in 40+ years. I am the previous owner of a Porsche Boxster and a 911 C4S (993). It is no exaggeration to say that I have had more driving enjoyment with the Sprite in the last 2 weeks than I did in many years of ownership with the Porsches. That is not to say that they were not great cars - they most definitely were - but what differentiates the Sprite is that it is fun at low speed. Driving at 30 mph can feel like 60 and the slightest curve in the road makes me smile. Not to mention the attention it draws from other road users and children alike. I frequently find myself talking to a stranger who has pulled up next to me at a traffic stop and winds down their window to ask about the car. Kids spontaneously smile and wave at me. I am not very mechanically minded but I have always enjoyed driving although over the years have felt more and more distanced from the raw experience I recall growing up. That experience is now back and sitting in my garage! David and his team did a wonderful job preparing my car for what I hope to be 1,000,s of miles of happy driving and if something goes wrong I know a pit crew in Branford Connecticut that are a phone call away to answer any questions or address whatever ailment Sawyer may have. Thanks David - you have made me feel young again!

I can't say enough good things about Bugeye Guys. They answer the phone. They answer my questions. I'm just starting out on my 1965 Sprite, "Spyder-Mite" and I'm working on the interior now and needed seat track sliders. I looked at eBay and swap meet "orginals" but didn't like the quality. Today I received my new sliders from Bugeye Guys and WOW! The quality, fit and finish is impressive. Forward to back adjustable is about 5-6 inches. Ball bearings support the slide and do require some lubricant and break in. My only concern is the pin holding the spring loaded locking pin could be better. It can easily be replaced with a bolt, locking nut and washers. Get the mounting hardware and wood mounting strips and you'll quickly have your seats installed. Even if your Bugeye isn't yet running you can still sit in it and imagine all those road trips.

I have an MGA Coupe withe a Hi-Gear Engineering 5-speed gearbox. The knob supplied with the kit wasn't to my liking. I found that Bugeyeguys had a knob like what I wanted but with different threads. I spoke with Nike at Bugeyeguys and he said that he could have a knob made with my required threads, in my case 5/16 x 24. Nick said it would take a few days and he would get it to me. The knob is perfect. Nice size (1-7/8") and fits just as it should. Great personal service from Nick. Nice company to deal with. Maybe I should buy a Bugeye.

I am thoroughly pleased with David the Bugeye Guy and his staff. I bought an Austin Moke at auction. It had it's issues (starting, front suspension and steering) so I spoke to David who then set a whole game plan. Helped with transport, amazing analysis of what it needed now and what could be done later. Communication was 10/10. Work was completed swiftly, another 10/10. Estimate given turned out to be within 95% final costs. No surprises. Without hesitation, I recommend the Bugeye Guys completely and fully

David did a wonderful job upgrading and improving my 1959 Austin Healey Sprite. Extreme attention to detail and professional service staff created a finished product that was amazing. Without hesitation I would recommend this shop to anyone with a antique roadster. Experience, precision, thoughtfulness and constant communication made this the perfect choice for my Bugeye. Thanks again David, Here is star #6 * you are off the scale.
