Johnny Baker is exceptionally informed about golf and products along with excellent hosting. Also the course is a gem!!

Love this course. it's always a great place to play. They give you first responder and military discount. There was a lot of rain in the northeast this summer. Traps are filled with water free lift. A few tough holes but a fun time.

Gillette is a great track, no two holes alike, challenging for sure but playable for the higher handicappers. Some blind tee shots, a bunch of doglegs, plenty of well-placed sand traps to catch your less than ideal shots, ditto for the ponds that indisciminately welcome all brands of golf balls. Lots of beautiful trees everywhere, wildlife too, Gillette actually has a sign with silhouettes of a bear, snake, coyote, and one other critter (can't remember what) that reminds golfers to be kind to the course's wild neighbors. Love that sign! Gillette is an Arnold Palmer design, no doubt a big reason why it's so beautiful. I especially like the cart paths that wind through the forested sections of the course. The clubhouse is also beautiful, great food, great service, all good, here. Oh yeah, Gillette also has a practice range. We play Gillette often, add about twenty strokes to what Arnie probably shot here and you get an idea of how we play golf.Five stars, all day, for Gillette.

Similar review as another golfer. We waited on most shots for almost the entire round. A group a few holes ahead of us slowed down everyone behind them. Many holes there were 2 groups waiting on the tee box. We didn't see a ranger the entire round. Course is in fine shape but pace of play made for a terrible experience.

Course was in great shape and the layout was challenging and fun. HOWEVER… I’ve never experienced such a terrible pace of play. Waited between 5-10 min per shot on average, the marshall was nowhere to be seen. I quit after the 11th hole and was 3.5 hours in to my round. Truly an awful experience

Our book club had a happy hour in the restaurant that was just perfect. Lisa Loomis and the entire Gillette Ridge team made planning and execution services very easy. The food and beverages were excellent and the venue is so pretty and pleasing. The service was awesome, and it was a really fun evening all around.Sincere thanks from my friends and from me.Deb Carson

Extremely overpriced for the condition. $90 for greens littered with ball marks, and mud/concrete bunkers. Fun layout and can see potential for being a quality course, but not at the moment.

I've played many good rounds here over the years and always loved the challenging layout and most of all the conditions.Visited this past week only to see that it seems the conditions weren't what they used to be, which was disappointing to say the least.I understand we had some heavy rains recently, but other courses I played (also public ) didn't have the same issue, so I assumed as such. Clearly wrong on my part. But the real reason I'm giving this one star and would love to give less if I could is because of the person that's managing this course.I wrote a review in a Facebook group for CT golfers, and following that I get a call from this manager. He proceeds on telling me why the course was in the shape it was in which is ok, but where it took an interesting turn is him telling me I can't write reviews like that where others can see.Since when? Didn't know I wasn't allowed to exercise my right to freedom of speech.Continuing on this he then proceeds to tell me I'm doing this because I'm young.1. That's insanely condescending as I'm 40 years old and don't need to be spoken to like a child.2. Maybe it's more of a problem of them not being able to take feedback ?3. Just because I paid $38 for a "championship" course,Im supposed to be super grateful ? If it were in championship conditions then I would gladly pay more without second thought. But after this experience with this "manager" I felt I paid way more than I should have.Especially being talked down to like I'm some child..That person really needs a lesson on how to take feedback. In his words " we don't need your business " All good, dealing with this manager and the course being in rough shape during peak grow season makes it that much easier to never want to go back.Good riddance honestly.

Played the course for the first time today and was very impressed with the early season conditions. Fairways and greens were excellent. Can't say the same for my score but I know i can do better now that i know it better. Challenging but fun!

Golf course for golfers that know how to play. Layout is challenging. If you want to walk make sure they allow it in season. Designed for cart golf. 19the hole is a nice layout designed to sit and look out over the course which is nice.

I had my daughter's baby shower at Gillette and I can't say enough good things about Gina and her staff! From the moment I met with Gina, I knew this was the perfect place to have the shower. She is flexible, offers great ideas and made sure that I was satisfied in every way possible. The best part was I got to drop off my decorations the day before and not only did many staff members help me bring in the items, Gina and her staff decorated for me! No other place will do that. The room is a great size with great views and I would definitely have other family events here if the need arises in the future!

I realize it is the off-season here in November so I don't want to be too critical, but the sand traps were in terrible shape. They were all washed out around the edges and just in tough shape in general. The greens were also recently aerated which is a little odd for this time of year or they just haven't healed at all from earlier in the fall. Besides that it was in decent shape and can be a fun and challenging course as it requires some accurate ball string on several holes and a par or bogey can easily become a double or triple bogey.
