My company received a quote for various THG items from Modern Plumbing Supply. The quote was for exactly what we asked for. We took that quote and used it to quote our customer for those same items. We ordered the THG products from Modern Plumbing Supply and received an order Acknowledgement. After we sold the product to our customer, based on the quote received from Modern, Steve Berger of Modern Plumbing Supply reached out to us explaining that they had made a mistake was made on their quotation and they would have to increase the quote substantially as they quoted us the wrong amount. We had already quoted our customer and could not ask them to pay more for what was already a completed sale to our customer. We asked Steve to honor his quotation. He refused. He said we didn't do enough business with his company to warrant the loss he would have to take for honoring his quote to us. He was fine with me taking the loss however. We asked him to split their mistake to lessen the loss to our company. He didn't even respond. If I ran my business like Modern Plumbing Supply, I would have no customers left. Every company makes mistakes. The good ones make it right for their customers. It's part of doing business. I will never do business with this company again. They do not honor their written and acknowledged quotations. Shame on them.

I've had very good results here over the years. The parts counter guys are knowledgeable and helpful.
I stopped here today to get my parts. I needed to fix a drippy shower. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I was in and out very quickly. Nothing like dealing with true professionals…

Their parts department located behind their retail store has possibly the worst sales associate I've ever had to deal with.
This is the 2nd time I have gone there to make a purchase and with the same results.
To start with, no greeting, no smile, negative responses, and an attitude of you bothered me while I'm standing behind my counter doing nothing.
I could understand some of the attitude if the place was busy and he was the only one on duty. But there was only myself and one other customer who was browsing.
I showed him the part I was looking for. His statement, I don't think our order came in. He walked down and came back with a similar but not the identical replacement part. When I told him so, he just turned around and walked back to the area that he brought the part from. He didn't even suggest the possibility of looking it up and possibly ordering it.
This is the 2nd time I've left Modern Plumbing and went across the Turnpike to Home Depot and purchased the exact part needed and possibly for less and with a sales associate who wanted my business.
There will not be a 3rd visit, and I don't recommend this place for the purchase of plumbing supplies. Maybe you have to be a plumber in order to get respect from this man.
As much as I try to support small business vs. big box stores, Modern Plumbing Supply doesn't have the same attitude.

Went in there 20 minutes ago on July 15th to buy a new sink fixture and shower head with hand held shower at 2:30pm. I'm dressed up coming straight from work myself at a local small business, knowing the importance of a greeting and customer service. I called out hello and NO ONE of the 6 people said hello. No one came to help us. We wandered around clearly expressing interest and one woman said finally, "anyone helping you" and I said no, "no one could even bother to look up and make eye contact " her response..."well, I'm not out front." So 6 other employees couldn't be bothered either? My business is definitely going elsewhere. Sad because we wanted quality items and wouldn't mind spending the money, but if it's a chore for you to act like you care, I already see how you treat people. Modern plumbing needs a refresher on manners STAT!.

Condescending on the phone. He questioned my use of the term hvac in relation to a backflow preventer for a boiler. He said that's not hvac. The definition of hvac is heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems. A boiler is for heating. Need to hire happier desk help....

Modern Plumbing (Berlin) associate in Parts department doesn't wear COVID-19 face mask. And, the parts pricing is outrageously high. I needed an HVAC part for my boiler, and went to their parts department. The customers in the area were all wearing COVID masks, but the associate behind the desk did not wear any mask. This is Feb 2021, when the pandemic infection rates are staggeringly high. Since I had no heat, it was Saturday afternoon, and a snowstorm was coming in, I really needed to get that part. It cost $330; whereas it was $208 at the normal place I shop (unavailable Sat). Although I knew in advance I would be paying a premium at Modern Plumbing - at least they should follow the pandemic protocols and have the associate wear a COVID mask.

I went to Homedepot and Lowes and both places were very limited in shower Valve stems. I googled plumbing supplies and found Modern Plumbing. I went in with my old stem and the two gentleman employees didn't give up until they were able to find my exact match to fit my shower. Don't hesitate to bring your old cartridges and parts here. They will find you a solution. Price was also very fair. I have a new favorite plumbing store. !
