This is just a review on the store; I did not try the deli part of the General Store. This is located in kind of an obscure spot, and the locals must love it to grab a cup of coffee or emergency pasta instead of schlepping all the way to Winstead. There is, in point of fact, a coffee station to that end. There is also a cooler for bait, vaping and smoking supplies, and your regular chips and drinks. It's a really cute shop, lots of open space to walk around. Parking is a little limited, but honestly unless there's a fishermen's rush for bait can't imagine that's a problem.

Fresh and flavorful grinders and rolls at pleasant valley impressed me. The ingredients were top-notch, bursting with taste. The variety on the menu catered to different preferences, and the portions were generous. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere added to the enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended.??

4 stars for nice service, no line or waiting, plenty of selections of refreshments, snacks, drinks (except no seltzer) and they also do powerball! 3 stars for kind of a funky vibe when deli sandwiches individually wrapped on the far side of the room, lots of empty back space like it's in progress or under development, etc. it has some potential! Appears to be a local spot for your coffee, breakfast and newspapers.

For residents and commuters who use this intersection, it's always disappointing when this store is closed between owners. It's good to know it's there when it's open whether you need something for the household like milk or eggs, or if you just want a cold drink or a snack. The shop consistently features basic sundries, newspapers, cigarettes, lottery games, bagged chips and sweets, bags of ice and some pet food. As late as 2010 or so, this spot sold gasoline but no longer. Alcohol is not available. Live bait is kept in a cooler for the fly fishermen who frequent the neighboring Farmington River. The current provider features things like homeopathic bottled oils for ailments, cannabis accessories, earbuds, cold weather hats and gloves, simple automotive needs, commonly used groceries and an ATM.

Nice little store where I had a cup of coffee and sat on a little table outside. The store looked like it had all the essentials of a convenience store, but just in the middle of the country!

It showed on Google maps as having a Bitcoin ATM but that is not the case. Owner verified this.Although it is a pleasant General Store very quintessentially.

Stood at the register waiting to pay for 5 minutes cash in hand, clerk saw me and didn’t acknowledge that I was even there. ended up putting my stuff back and going somewhere else.

If you're looking for a nice hearty lunch sandwich, this is NOT the place. A 10" sub with just 2 slices of roast beef, if you want an all bread sandwich this is where you go. 8 thumbs down.

I love that this general store is doing so well again! Very convenient for a quick stop. The owner and works are very friendly, they are a pleasure to do business with.
