I ordered amaryllis bulbs that arrived in in a timely manner and in great condition.Very healthy and the bulbs are huge with multiple bloom stalks.I highly recommend!

Avoid this company. They did not even ship my $200+ 'fall' bulbs until mid-November, three weeks into the frost, long past when a reputable seller would have fulfilled the order. The company rep was dismissive, and dishonestly represented this LATE shipment as normative in the trade. It is not. Do not trust them with your business.

Just received shipment of 18 different varieties of bulbs. All beautiful! None dried out or any with signs of mold. All varieties were of right quantity and well packed. I had added to my order before shipment and the updated quantity was shipped. Of course, I don't know how any will do until next spring but John Scheepers performed very well with customer service and quality of bulbs. Happy customer. Will definitely order again. Love their variety! I hadn't ordered from them in may years (15 yrs?) and I was hoping their quality hadn't gone down. Happy it hasn't!

Ordered from them because our normal supplier didn't have the variety of seeds in stock. Had issues with germination and tried multiple methods with mixed results. John Scheepers bulbs are at a discount and are high quality bulbs. This company is the sister company to Van Engelen Bulbs which sells very large quantities at a huge discount. I have used both for various reasons and always was thrilled with my flowers. The variety of bulbs in these catalogs offers more than you will ever see in a nursery. You will find more colors, rarely grown varieties like species tulips, and the bulbs are separated by early, mid and late flowers so you can easily plan for longer longer blooming times. I have learned though that tulips only come back every year with excellent drainage and zero summer water. Native to Turkey, tulips, should not be around areas that need summer water to due well. This is a perfect flower for xeric gardens gardens or separate beds of tulips on their own. Van Engelen catalog does not have pictures so I recommend going on line their website if you need a visual. Like a kid in a candy store, these catalogs make me want all of them. You can always tuck a few bulbs in pots, in between low water perennials and this year I am planting very small bulbs in my lawn for wildlife!

I ordered the same hard to find hyacinth bulbs for two consecutive years. They were planted exactly as instructed. The first year NOTHING came up.I ordered over $200 in bulbs the first time and foolishly went back for more because I thought maybe the winter was too harsh or too wet or maybe it was the soil or the location. "Customer service" said it had to be somerhing that I did wrong. Since these bulbs are hard to find I went back to Scheepers to get them again. On the second try I also planted a large area with other bulbs (from other companies) and had a nice patch devoted to these Scheepers hyacinths. When the spring and summer came all my other bulbs came up beautifully and left a large blank area where the Hyacinths were supposed to be. NOTHING.Customer service once again blamed me and my soil and my methods and anything else they could think of but had no explanation for my success with the other bulbs. I cannot trust the bulbs from this company. I will not buy from them again.Even though I see several reviews that praise the company, my own experience with them makes me doubtful.I sincerely hope that you have better luck than I did.

I made large orders at this company in both 2021 and 2022. Both times, I was shorted on bulbs. For example, a pack that was supposed to have 7 bulbs only had 10. Both times, I requested that they send me the missing bulbs as I was trying to complete patterns. Both times they said they would only send me more bulbs if I paid for an entire package of 10. So in the above example, the only way I could get the 3 they failed to send me was to buy 7 more. As I would not agree to that extortion, the only thing they would do is refund me for the missing bulbs. I think that is horrible customer service. The scanted my bulbs in 2 years and just refused to send the missing bulbs. The customer service was horrible. If you order from them, make sure you count all your bulbs. If you are missing any, be aware that all they will do is refund for the missing bulbs. They won't send more without you paying more. I won't be ordering from them again. I gave them a 2nd chance and they blew it. Also, it could have just been the rotten spring weather last year, but the bulbs I did plant did very poorly.

Customer service non existent. Made inquiry on the website. heard 3 days later via email asking questions. I answered the questions have not heard back since [2 weeks+]. Purchased the forcing hyacinth package. Dismal results. I have been forcing bulbs since 1966 and this was the worst purchase that I've made. About half didn't even root in my hyacinth vases. Others started blooming when starting to emerge from bulb.

Top quality, excellent customer service! A wonderful woman in customer service found my order and expedited the shipping so they arrived on time. I had a library program on planting and care of amaryllis. The bulbs arrived on time, in great condition, and everybody loved them. Thank you!

What I find very interesting is that the only reviews that come up, and that are counted in the overall review of the business, are the 5 star ones. Now at the bottom I noticed there was a small note that said that there were 4 other reviews that are not currently recommended. And these weren't counted in the review of the business. Really? Not recommended by who? These reviews had serious concerns and if I had seen them, I would not have ordered bulbs as I am having a similar problem. Ordered bulbs in August, and they have not arrived yet. I emailed in September and my email was ignored. Emailed two more times and still ignored. I called two days ago and told that many of my items were on backorder. So what about the ones that weren't--well the person I spoke with couldn't tell me when they would be shipped. I told her I wanted them now. She hemmed and hawed and said they would probably go out this week. I told her I would call back in a week and if nothing was shipped I was cancelling my order. So as it stands now nothing has been shipped and I don't have any bulbs. I wanted to plant them in September. This same situation happened with another company Eden Brothers, and I cancelled the order finally in November. I will not be ordering bulbs again and will buy what I can locally. I will revisit my review to update what was the ultimate decision. And I certainly hope this gets posted in the regular review site and not pushed away as "not recommended."

For just about 2 decades I have loved these guys! I give them 2 green thumbs up!I have never ran into a problem with an order. My bulbs have always arrived super healthy and a substantial size!Their customer service is incredible too!Pictured is a close up of Parrot Tulip Rococo.

Very disappointing customer service. I was treated very disrespectfully when John Scheepers left items out of my order. I've been a loyal customer, and have placed large orders--this year I was very patient with supply chain delays. When the warehouse made a mistake, Eileen in customer service was incredibly rude. The company filed a claim with UPS, but the fault was probably not with UPS--why would someone take a few packages of bulbs out of a delivery?I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get this resolved. I won't do business with this company again--there are other bulb companies that are reputable.
