A day to forget:
As I walked into the store it seemed nice and packed with lovely goodies, organized enough and full to the brim with treasures to be found. The lady at the front seemed nice and also was cordial.
I should have walked out the door though, when I first came across a set of vintage pyrex ware priced at the most jaw dropping price of $200. Yes, I know it may be that price or way more online, but I came to a THRIFT store to find treasures that my family can use and admire for the years to come, not a boutique or an ANTIQUE store. I let the price roll over my shoulder as I continued to spend a bit over 2 hours shopping.
With my infant on my shoulder and my other son helping me, I admired the games that where stacked half to the ceiling and thought how my family could spend the evenings nostalgically together playing Monopoly, Sorry, or Trouble, "The good old days," they would say as they remembered the times we spent together as well as, "What a nice store momma went to, with such a nice owner."
Well sad to say after stacking my carts, I admit a bit full I went to the counter thinking, this must be around $150 only to be shocked at the $287 price tag that surmised. I knew I was in for it when the gal ahead had such a small amount with a $79 price tag.
So, I looked at the owner and told her, I am sorry this is far too much for my budget today and I only want to spend $150, instead of saying something along the lines of "lets see what we can work out", or what about "$200 for it all" or "well why don't we take this and that out and I can do $150." She stared at me in dismay and told me that maybe I should call my husband and see what he says.
So I did that, I stepped to the side and told her I am sorry I just didn't realize it would be so much (due to the fact that the majority of items have no price on them.) I called my husband and I'm sure she was listening to everything I said.
I had decided in my head I would still spend the $150 but I would go through everything and really decide on my items as well as ask what prices she had put on some of these things I was sure were worth $1, she looked over the counter and told me, "I had discounted all the snow boots to $6 because of how much you had, I am now going to have to charge you the normal $10 for each pair." (Mind you I had at least 7 pairs of shoes ) I gritted my teeth and said, "Okay, I understand," then she walked over to me and I was just about to continue to pick things out, the dreaded pillows threw me over, "These are $6 each?" I had asked which is what we had agreed at the counter, she then said "Well, now they are $8" I gritted my teeth again, and told my older son to grab his Native American memorabilia he had found as well as the lightsaber that I wanted for my other son's birthday coming up and we went to the counter . I looked the lightsaber intently over with my son to make sure that it was in good order because $10 was already more then I wanted to pay for a beat up used child's toy, I paid for our two items as she said "I have my work cut out for me, now I have to put this all back," I think she was looking for an apology. I literally said nothing.
People donate these items in hopes of giving new life to them and that others may gain memories and joy from them.
I'm Sorry though, you may find Trouble, and in such a Monopoly of life, you may find greater joy at another place.
Though if you do embark on the hour drive as I did, then go in with a notepad and write down your prices she gives for such "new" and "vintage" items.
In response to the owner:
Clearly listed is a pyrex set, I am actually not sure of the brand, but it was about 4 baking-ware dishes.

So they are not open on Saturdays. Google listing says they are but they are not. We tried to call on a Friday to confirm, no answer. Looks like a fine place, but good luck guessing when they are open.

Great and packed thrift store with reasonable prices. Found some great kitchen treasures I plan on using in my kitchen. Wide variety of stuff available. Anything from crafts to clothes, to kitchen items and beyond. Will definitely be going back!

Have visited this store many times over the years. They have had a great selection at time and not so much at other times. We like to thrift shop so it was one of many that we would visit.Seems like times have changed, we are no longer local so its unlikely we will visit anytime soon. Yet from the last review if theft is a problem then the prices have to to be a problem. Those who steal, steal for a reason. Yet making people leave their purses at the counter is a big no-no.I have always had good experiences here and thus reflects my rating. The store sits in larger section of the strip mall/building. The only bad thing about the location is that one can miss it from the main road. The street lights along the roads are quite cool though.

Been going in this store for several years, had considered the owners as friends...on Tuesday the 8th of August my daughter and I went in to look around...I was told we needed to leave our purses at the counter...I replied I'm not leaving our purses anywhere. I told my daughter that we need to go...I told the owner GOODBYE & I'll never be back!

Not a bad little store. My gf and I liked coming here frequently. But the owners are a bit rude . And sometime It felt like we're not allowed to touch anything .

I found some truly great finds but I also will say, there's strong competition. Go and see what she carries, it'll surprise you!

Lots and lots of good deals in this store! Brand name jeans for a $1! Yes it is over packed but I’d rather have good deals then walk out empty handed! The store hours on the door aren’t accurate and no one answers the phone. Hit or miss when trying to pick a good day to come shop.

The very first time I went in, which will always be the last time I go in. It looked like the were hoarding more than they were selling, which is bad for business if you can't walk on a floor with stepping over merchandise
