I seriously regret using James Marshall Lehman who is the registered agent for Thrive Primary Care LLC (Colo Secretary of State i.d.#20181071755) and just a registered nurse (APN # 0992468) but a man with an Ego who allows himself to be regarded and called DOCTOR. Seems to get off on being called "doctor" by his female staff, and also gleefully allows his client/patients to address him as "doctor" never making the effort the correct that he is NOT A DOCTOR. It is fairly evident that Lehman is not a "doctor" by the way he operates his office by allowing his female staff to abuse and lie to the client/patient. Lehman allows multiple websites to identify him as Doctor such as WebMd, UCHealth, Healthgrades, and other sites. Lehman neglects to correct these websites just like he neglects to correct being addressed by client/patients as "Doctor". Lehman proffers on various websites, that he is a primary care provider for pediatrics as well as geriatrics. However it is my personal experience that he cannot discern one "old man" from another. Because when Lehman (or his staff) makes a serious mixup in blood work for an 81 year old client/patient in place of a 78 year old client/patient he mounts a battle against the individual who he and his staff have already done harm to with the wrong blood test. Then when he is asked to provide medical records pursuant to the HIPAA laws, his staff belligerently refuses to provide said records and instead calls the cops - all the while calling Lehman on the 911 tape "Doctor". That staffer is Dumb as a Rock in this old man's opinion. For heaven sake do not take your children to nurse Lehman, because THERE ARE BETTER PROVIDERS TO BE FOUND IN WOODLAND PARK COLORADO THAN THIS PRETEND WANNA-BE DOCTOR.

If you are a veteran don't bother going here, they can't access your VA records to give you the care you need. All they did was delay my care. Go to the VA in Colorado springs. I have a condition that has nothing to do with them wanting to send me for a brain scan, I corrected them then they corrected their action.
There is only one other community care doctor in Woodland Park and the same issues, they are also a nurse practitioner and want to send you for care that is not connected thru the VA.
If you live in WP just figure on going to the Springs for your care.
Once you get assigned for care in the community the VA has a rule that you can't move back to getting care in the main VA system for 1 year. Don't get stuck in a community care system that can't care for your needs.

I highly recommend James Lehman N.P. at Thrive Primary Care. He takes the time to listen to you. On my first appointment he did a lab test and two weeks later he gave me a treatment that has made a world of difference in my energy level. He also recommended the best Probiotics (each pill packed in Nitrogen) that have improved my gut health after months of lack of progress. The location of the office should not be a deterrent for Colorado Springs folks. His office is only 18 minutes up Ute Pass from Manitou Springs. That is closer than some of my docs in Colorado Springs.

My husband and switch to this office from the springs in 2022. First 2 visits were great. Than I asked for refills on my thyroid meds, and he refused saying I couldn't ask for refills and I was "practicing medicine " by asking for refills on meds I had been taking for 20 years. He also said I didn't need thyroid meds. This guy is "nuts". Do not recommend!

This office gives medicine a bad name. They do not care for patients and overbill judiciously. My health became far worse after visiting this practice.
Furthermore, I would not recommend this practice or doctor. Problems with my bloodwork were ignored, causing major health problems. Also, the hallmark of an excellent doctor's office starts with its administrative staff, which this office severely lacks. I would not recommend this practice; health is too precious.

Let me just say this- Thrive Primary Care is a "breath of fresh air!!" From a medical standpoint (I have a medical background), James is competent, listens well and explains issues thoroughly. In addition, he involves the patient in the treatment plan. Amazing!!! Believe me you are more than an "account number" at Thrive.I might also add that James and the staff are very affirming!!! Thanks for providing WP a "choice" in medical care.

As noted several times here, James uses your prescriptions as a way to maximize his billing. He holds it hostage over you to require additional appointments and extra billing. Further he'll have you do medically useless bloodwork to up billing such as bloodwork without fasting and nearly directly after eating. This is a terrible practice and James is a grifter.

James Lehman and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They were able to work me in for an establishing care appointment very quickly, and James and I had a very long conversation about my medical history and his care philosophy, which is all about holistic health and working on lifestyle factors before turning to medication. He is NOT your corporate cookie-cutter 5-minute appointment kind of provider, which is exactly what I wanted to get away from in the Springs. James truly wants to listen and understand your health issues and concerns. We did some preliminary blood work to establish benchmarks, and his assistant called within a few days to give me my results. I have been so impressed by his level of care, knowledge, and professionalism. We are so lucky to have someone of his caliber practicing holistic medicine in Woodland Park.

We've been seeing James for years prior to opening his own office. When we found out about his office we were thrilled and since have been so blessed to be apart of his family of patients!

I was seeing James for three years for a condition that my PCP (of 10 years +) did not deal with. My prescription ran out. Instead of allowing me one more prescription, contacting me to tell me they needed to see me before any further prescriptions would be approved, they just straight-up denied me. I called them and the person I spoke to (Leanne?) was the most condescending and rude person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I was already upset that at my last visit, James said that if I didn't name him as my PCP, I would have to pay for the visit and labs out-of-pocket and they would not even attempt to run it through my insurance. But living in WP, it was a matter of convenience. After talking to "Leanne", the choice was clear. I drove an hour to find a new doctor. It was definitely worth the drive. I would only go to Thrive as a

I was really happy to read the reviews and was hopeful I could find a local medical provider that believed in a more holistic approach. I tried to call for 2 weeks and could never get anyone to pick up the phone during business hours. Finally this week I started calling on Monday morning and leaving messages with the hopes of someone returning my call. Finally, on Wednesday morning I left a message to see if they were still in business. Wednesday at 3:30 Leanne called with a hostile tone and informed me I was not a patient, she did not appreciate my "tone" or inferring that they were out of business. This is most definitely not a place that I would consider being a patient. Leanne was abrupt, combative, abrasive and a real turn off for this practice. I am sorry, but I would think I could have gotten my phone call answered or returned in 2 weeks. I am sorry that Leanne took offense to me leaving a message asking if they were still in business especially in a time when MANY business have gone under. I am sorry that Leanne is so angry and unable to represent the doctors or the practice well. This is not they type of company I want to do business with, especially if I were truly ill and needed any compassion.

After reading the 5 negative reviews, I could not disagree more with the comments made. Thrive has been our health care provider for 4 years. We have had the best medical care that can be provided. The comment made that Thrive is pill pusher, couldn't be further from the truth. Thrive is a wholeistic medical provider, I have only been prescribed medication when it was necessary.Jim W
