It’s a good location for feed, but today we endured a racist experience, where we were charged extra for a bag of chicken feed when I normally get that’s same feed for less. They also neglected helping us, we stood there waiting for them to come help us, and all we got was dirty looks from two of the male workers there.

I purchased my package of bees this spring from Wardle and today I went in to buy an additional medium because the hive is so healthy. The fellow that helped me was awesome and brought everything to my car which was the best because I have a 9 month old.I'm so grateful that such a great supplier is right around the corner ?✨

This is a solid business, I bought 5 chicks 3.5 months ago and they are all doing great. I bought a variety, 1 of which is an Easter egger. Recently this bird has been crowing, and im starting to suspect she may be a rooster. Do you have any recommendations on how to handle this?

The wife n I were looking for a special parakeet formula bird seed, and even tho this place was on the other side town, they always have it, and the drive is worth it.

Really wanted to support this place after hearing good things about their chicken coops. I live almost an hour and a half away, but figured supporting a small business and getting a quality product was worth the drive. I called 6 times and left several voicemails asking about coops before making a special trip in, but never got anyone to answer or call me back. Finally after seeing the photos of their coop village on google and their website, I assumed they had some in stock and drove into town. Turns out, they only make them to order now and lead time is 5+ weeks. Totally bummed that I made the drive for nothing and that I’ll now have to buy something cheap from TSC or Jax because I need to move my girls ASAP (had they answered when I first called a month ago, I could have waited to have one made). To the owners: please update your website to make it clear that all coops are made to order (and that there’s a substantial lead time) and modify your voicemail message if you don’t have the resources to answer the phone or give a call back.

Excellent! Just like the feed stores I remember from my youth. Way better than the big chain stores.

After reading some of the reviews off here, and been to the store in person. I highly frown apon some of the negative reviews from uneducated people. In other words take most of thies one stares with a grain of salt.My experience with eardle has been ecstatic. I drove 3 hours from nebraska to pick up a bee box on the pick up date. Sadly there was some miss communication and I was not informed of the date change witch happends with new customers. What surprised me is how every employees did what they could to make it possable to get the bee box on that day. They all showed perfect customer service, where exstreamly friendly and helpful. Ended up getting my box same day just not in expected time frame. This company went above and beyond to make that happen, and for that experience I will be coming back for a long time.

I grew up in Wheat Ridge and Wardle animal feed store and recycling center has always been a pillar of the community. My family would buy feed from them when I was a child with a city farm. We have purchased honey bee supplies and and we have taken electronics and metal recycling to them. Really nice folks. Such a warm farm feeling. I wish they hosted a pie eating contest as a fund raiser for some animal foundation. Now that would be fun! We LOVE you guys!

I have been going here for more then 10 years, no problems. I have bought many chick's over the years, never any illness, once I learned how fragile chick's can be and how careful you must be to prevent illness. It is crazy to read the reviews though because everyone who gives a bad review for a chicken who died wants to blame Wardle's. Wardle's can not control what you do with your chickens once you leave their store. Chick's die very easily, they are not hardy like a puppy or kitten. The only one to blame for your chicken passing is your self.

Friendly, thoughtful service and a great array of products for farm pets who live closer to the city.

I purchased supplies for years with great service. Decided to get some pullets from them and one of the birds started showing symptoms of mycoplasma within the first week. I reached out to them via email and received no response. That hen passed and now it seems the rest of my flock are carriers and do not lay eggs because of it. AVOID.

Years later we still are suffering the devastation of having gotten chicks 5 years ago from them and had been infected with Marek’s disease. They do not offer vaccinated chicks, and don’t even like to discuss the whole thing with customers! Won’t say who their hatcheries are…I lost my entire flock and replacement chickens several times over, it was so bad… so I felt obligated to other backyard poultry owners, and I reported them to CO state ag in Fort Collins to keep an eye on them for aiding in the spreading of this most painful, untreatable, and horrible disease. Be sure you don’t ever get Marek’s , its a terribly painful nerve disease, causing paralysis, and or can cause horrible lymphoid (internal organs riddled with copious cancer (etc) as well as many other various presentations that all lead to pain for chickens and DEATH in the end. For the owner, it is emotionally trying, and painful to have this happen, losing pets, watching them suffer, or culling your flock, as well as very costly for replacement flocks who got it too from our enviroment, (Good luck getting it out of your enviroment) and costly vet visits etc. Watching them lose quality of life and die is just Heartbreaking. Also Wardle’s never responded to my complaints. I hope they have fixed the issues here but doubt it. No way to prove it is clean now, several years later! I would not take the chance, it is so risky and transmittable, and LETHAL. So, based on all this I must say, that I can’t recommend. Find hatcheries that offer vaccinations for Marek’s and prevent it from getting in your environment in the first place is the best and actually only trusty way to deal with this!! (Review left on their website today) I can’t believe they are clean, they are not certified, so please take them OFF your recommended as "Best in Colorado list" this is very decieving to buyers who trust the site. They do not seem to care to be certified from their attitude. However another note: They are not a hatchery, they are a middle man from many hatcheries, that is why I was upset they wouldn’t tell me their sources, so the Mareks could be narrowed down to what hatcheries could be infected and notified to check. THEY DID NOT CARE.

Great place, got what I came for, will come again. Apparently I have to keep writing to have enough words to post this.
