The tax professional, Guy Allmeyer, was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful, especially regarding questions relating to seniors. He answered all of them and suggested some helpful things that I should consider before next tax season that may have a positive impact on any owed taxes. I intend to look into his suggestions as a followup as I am sure they will be very helpful for me next year.

Kathleen Timmens is the only tax person I trust and refer to. My level of understanding for tax stuff is very low, but she was very concise, patient and knowledgeable. Will definitely come back next year.

I’m very disappointed with the quality of tax prep services we received from H&R Block. I typically file our taxes using tax prep software, but this year we had a family emergency and felt that we did not have the time or energy. We elected to have H&R Block complete our return and file our taxes on our behalf.The associate that helped us (Misty) did not seem knowledgeable regarding tax regulations. She included our HSA distributions as taxable income, and I had to notice that was incorrect before it was corrected. She told us that we owed a federal tax penalty for underpayment. and that we needed to pay that penalty separately from our tax bill, which I also found out was wrong (per the IRS 1040 instructions). That penalty amount was already included on our payment to the IRS.I pointed out these issues and a few others to Misty and she was not responsive.Lastly, we were not told that one of our state Form 1040’s was rejected due to a name change technicality. I had to call H&R Block and ask for an update in order to be told that. I never received an email or call telling me that the specific state return was rejected.We paid nearly $500 for tax prep services, and I expected much more professionalism & accuracy. I would have been better off doing my own taxes. I will not be using H&R Block for tax prep in the future.

William Tobin showed no sense of transparency or urgency with his customer service. After physically meeting with him to go over my taxes, I was required to submit one more document via the online portal to complete my taxes - which I had done within 72 hours. For 3 weeks following that event, it was radio silence as I attempted to reach out and get a hold of William over 5 times for a status update. I eventually had to escalate my situation to the manager as any messages that I had left with the secretary were not being acknowledged by William.

Just wanted to shout out Tom Kent for helping me. I watched him work through my multiple documents and he purposefully did some things I wouldn’t have been able to figure out to make sure I got the most out of my filing. I’ve had a unique few years working for multiple companies and getting paid in different ways. Thanks, Tom.

The staff are amazing! Especially the front office women Emelia! She always has the brightest smile on her face and the sweetest tone! Always willing to go above and beyond to help! She is definitely the meaning of the face of a company!!
