Doug is amazing. Very helpful all the way around. Rebuilt generator out of a 1959 Ford Fairlane. He is the last of his breed. A master at electrical. The gen worked great and helped me over the phone when I had 2 wires installed wrong on the voltage regulator. I drove an hour one way for him to fix the generator. It was worth it. Thanks Doug

Places like this don't exist anymore. Doug was great. He was able to quickly turn around an alternator rebuild for a JDM market vehicle where new isn't an option. He also took the time to show and explain the process as well as answering all of my questions. I would highly recommend him!

Doug is one of a kind. Unbelievably helpful with both educating and repairing super obscure 190SL generator. Diagnosed a 'newly rebuilt' generator that had been shipped across the country for repair (should have brought it to him, but didn't know of D&D). Also helped me sort wiring logic on a regulator swap. Best automobile-related experience in years.Service: Electrical repair

Amazing service. Great value. Alternator went bad, all mechanics were backed up for two weeks, had a friend take it out. ( grueling long hours but successful) and D&D checked it quickly, rebuilt it and fixed it. All mechanics told me they just rebuild them as you don't get new ones due to back up shipping. D&D is super knowledgeable and quick return. ( we even tried to order from Napa but no one had this type in). Great value at D&D.

This shop is AMAZING!! I have an old 64 1/2 Mustang and attempted multiple times to find a replacement generator for it. I couldn’t find anyone in Colorado Springs that had experience with generators. So glad a fellow Mustang friend recommended this shop. As soon as I walked in I KNEW he understood me. Alternators and generators line the walls. I had ordered a generator twice from BNR parts and both times the configuration was wrong. This shop replaced the incorrect faceplate on the generator and replaced the incorrect fan blades, which I didn’t know was bigger than the 64 1/2 Mustang’s blades. He had all the parts for the front housing in shop, and I told him to keep the other parts. Incredible turnaround time too! 2 hours!! He also has a mechanic shop in the back for all of your other automotive needs - motor, electrical, framing, etc. Very feasibly priced and superb customer service. My new go to shop. Doug knows his stuff! I didn't want to pay dealer prices or buy the imported garbage that advanced auto and the like consider "automotive-grade electric" and is guaranteed to leave you stranded if you even think of putting another 20k on the odometer. My rebuilt alternator works great!

Can't find guys like him around - rare bus alternator they don't make anymore, he couldn't fix it but he tried all day and is really nice. We are going to problem solve to find solution! Most people don't give you that much attention who are that busy.

Been coming here for a couple decades to have numerous vehicle's alternators rebuilt. I know he can't keep working forever, but I wish he would. He was able to get my alternator rebuilt in one day which really helped with the downtime of my vehicle. Total cost was about a third of buying a new alternator. Hard to find places and people like this anymore.

Took my 20yr old Motorcraft alternator there to be tested, turned out it was bad. You can’t buy this model anymore, D&D rebuilt it for less than I could buy one a cheap one from Oreilly’s for. Great service from an old school shop that you just don’t see anymore. Will be using them for all of my auto electric needs

I had an ignition issue that three shops and some $500 couldn't resolve. Easy and cheap trip to D&D and everything was resolved. Really appreciated the time taken to explain the work, too.
