Aaron, thank you so much for your help with my ski boots fitting! You were super kind and knowledgeable in your crafts. I really appreciate you for taking the time and not rushing me and answering all my questions. Tutu

This is for the bike service department specifically. Most of my visits here have been nice and the store staff are friendly and helpful, but the bike shop has let me down twice. The first issue was when I went in to get cable and housing to replace the existing on my dropper post. I asked the mechanic multiple times for an extra foot of housing since it’s cheap I was willing to pay for extra to ensure I wouldn’t have any issues once the dropper was pulled. The mechanic reassured me multiple times the housing would be sufficient and did not give me the length I requested. Of course when I was at home and I installed the post with the new housing it came up about 4 inches short and wouldn’t work so I had to make another run to a different shop to get the proper length housing. Today I took two wheels in that I just installed new tires on but couldn’t seat the bead with my floor pump. The wheels had been set up tubeless prior, and I just needed the mechanic to air the tires up with the compressor. He told me he couldn’t do that on the spot and that I would have to leave the wheels with him for a full tubeless setup and it would be $20 per tire. This is the first time I’ve had a shop not willing to air up tires for me on the spot. I know the customer isn’t always right, but two times I’ve went in for pretty simple requests and they weren’t willing to help me out and meet those requests. This place is walking distance from me but I won’t be using their bike again.

I’ve come in there twice to fit my 5 year old son up with skis.. first time as a walk in and asked if the the staff could fit us in.. they said yes and to go in line.. was in line and the manager decided they don’t do walk ins and asked us to leave not so nicely.. obviously devastating for a 5 year old and ask way he wasn’t being nice.. then after making an appointment for skis we go there and of course my son is excited and running around the same manager in a mean tone tells him to stop running in a empty store.. would understand if it was busy but he is just excited to get some new skis! You would think this would be a priority for a place like this. But to have two terrible experiences in a row by a manager is unacceptable.. I would not recommend this store especially if you have kids.

I'm torn because I had a great experience with boot fitting here. I think his name was Logan. However, when I went in today for something incredibly simple, I was greeted with attitude and money grabbing. All I needed was their air compressor to help seat my tire. I'm converting to tubeless and my pump isn't high capacity enough.First, he says "do you not own a pump?" To which I explain the above. Then he comes back and one of them didn't seat because the valve stem was a touch loose. He says, "you need to use pliers and tighten it. I'd do it, but we charge for that" in a snarky tone. Not only was this an extremely rude interaction, but also a display of his lack of knowledge. You want to hand tighted valves so that if you get a flat and need to put in a tube you can take it out by hand on the trail. He was a HORRIBLE experience and I walked out with only half of my job done even though I needed 15 seconds of air compressor help...ridiculous.

Needed a brake job on a bike converted to electric. The brakes are unmodified. I kid you not the Walmart greeter guy up front tells me they can’t do a brake job without messing up the electrical, so they stopped doing them on e-bikes. So by their own admission their incompetence is weapons-grade. Go elsewhere.

My partner and I (a queer couple, for reference) went to this location after an absolutely awful experience at the Boulder store the previous day, and I cannot overstate how phenomenal our experience was at this location. When we first walked in, we were not greeted by anyone, so we weren't sure what to expect from the rest of the visit. To be fair, we also had our guards up because of what we had experienced at the Boulder store. But as soon as we made our way to the back counter to sign in for a snowboard boot fitting appointment, we received the warmest welcome. It was clearly evident that each employee who said hello to us and asked if we needed any help with anything were being genuine and kind in their approach. Not once did we feel uncomfortable, as can sometimes be the case when shopping in retail stores with employees being overbearing or creepily following you around. This store was such a breath of fresh air, as far as retail shopping is concerned. And I haven't even gotten to the best part. When it was our turn for the boot fitting appointment (highly recommend making this appointment in advance, by the way, because they get BUSY!), we were greeted by Logan, who was the most supportive human we could have asked for; he truly wanted nothing but to help us both find boots that would be exactly what we needed. He shared a lot of expertise with us, without being arrogant or pushy about it. He was a patient and thorough listener, adapting what he brought out for each of us to try on based on our feedback. I was so blown away by how wonderful the whole experience with Logan was. And honestly, nothing about our shopping trip could have been any better at all. There was also another employee (manager, perhaps?) who was floating around, helping lots of customers while we were there. At one point, he stopped by and helped my partner with her boot fitting, sharing helpful ideas and just overall being a lovely guy. He shared a story with us about how he and his friends would make their own snowboard boots in 1985. I didn't catch his name, but he was also a great listener and demonstrated genuine care for his customers. On the sales floor, Judi helped us and was such a pleasure to interact with. She was so kind and thoughtful, going out of her way to make sure our shopping experience was an excellent one. Honorable mention goes to eBiker Howie, who rang up our purchases at the front desk. He was so cheerful and friendly. We both left the store feeling like a million bucks because we felt seen and cared about the entire time we were there. I realize this is kind of a funny way to describe a retail shopping experience, but it was quite meaningful for us and deserves to be shared.

I had an appointment on 31-Aug-23 to come here for the junior trade up program for my kids. Kyle helped me out and he couldn't have been more accommodating, friendly, and wonderful to my kids. He and others provided top notch customer service the whole time we were there and Kyle even helped me carry all the skis & boots out to my car. Props to Kyle and the staff!

Logan was amazing at helping me find skis and boots that are comfy and will make my skiing so much more enjoyable. I have a very wide foot and Logan helped me find the boot that fits well. He was very knowledgeable about what will work for me. I can't wait for the season and I can't thank Logan enough for his help and working with me!

Don't recommend. However unlike other reviewers - I didn't think anyone here was rude, they were actually quite friendly. Just didn't actually FIX anything.I brought in both of my bike's tires due to being flat. The experience with the first bike was fine because I was able to take it and ride it after it was brought in. However, when I brought in the 2nd set of tires I paid $40 to get them fixed or replaced - I was fine with whatever option resolved the issue. However, after I got the tires home the front one was flat within 24 hours BEFORE I even put the tire back on the bike for a ride. I filled it up with air hoping it would be okay and un-surprisingly it wasn't.I called to get the issue resolved and whoever I spoke with seemed to be on the fence about charging me to fix it even though I ALREADY paid for the service - at this point should have just gotten a refund. Brought the front tire back in - not entirely sure what they did, but it was still flat within 24 hours of getting it back. Again it hadn't even been put back on the bike or used. How hard is it to resolve an issue with a bike tire? Not sure why they didn't just replace it, but it was overall a huge waste of time. If anyone knows of a place that can fix/replace a flat bike tire please let me know!

EMG is a great place; my review is simply on this store/staff. Took my very excited kids in to pick out new bikes. The vibe and staff at this location is disappointing. For being the only people in the store, we felt invisible. I bought my kids bikes here last year and it was an amazing experience… not sure what happened. I felt so uncomfortable, we left without purchasing. Will try another place.

I bought a bike from Epic in June. After riding the bike three times it wasn't working for me and hurt every time I rode. I took the bike in and after explaining the situation George and Richard knew immediately that the fit was wrong. They were both amazing and were able to adjust my bike so that it was comfortable and enjoyable to ride. They took the time to explain what they were doing and why it was important. They even quickly made some adjustments so I could go for a planned ride the next day. George followed up several times with phone calls and had me bring the bike back to change out the stem. The customer service was incredible and they never talked down to me or made me feel stupid. I would highly recommend Epic and to talk to George or Richard if you are having trouble with your bike or need a new bike.

Very unprofessional in the service department. Terrible communication skills. Maybe hire somebody who just explains store policy in a clear manner instead of bashing other stores and their employees.

Extremely disappointed with the service at the location on 92nd and Wadsworth. I bought a pair of Ride snowboard boots and before purchasing them I specifically asked the sales associate if I could return them and he said yes. He said that they would try to do what they can to help the boots fit better but ultimately if it came down to it that they would in fact return the boots. When I went to this location today to return the boots I was immediately shut down and was told that I could only receive store credit. So I was mislead into buying boots so that the sales associate could get a commission? I don’t ever want to shop at a place where I am lied to, and then looked at as though I am the one in the wrong when I try to return them. I would strongly urge anyone to avoid Epic Mountain Gear. This situation was not handled appropriately and now I have a $303 credit to a place that I don’t ever want to go back to.
