“I'm getting help from them it's been a blessing that they are able to help me and my daughter getting into a place of our own. I've been homeless and have my daughter it's been hard staying in her car. Now we're just trying to find us a place to live.”

Their work to root Tibetan Buddhism in the West is absolutely inspiring. Their shrine room is absolutely gorgeous, like stepping into a temple in Asia.”

“For me, the Althea Center was an undiscovered treasure--a 101 year old building decorated beautifully for the holidays. It is a nice setting to appreciate life and friendships.”
“I can’t express the importance of this place. So many people like myself have or are experiencing homelessness. Unfortunately sometimes treated like the scum of the earth. Often times humans overlooked as passer byers walk on by. Homelessness bares the weight of failure, mental illness, emotional distress, loneliness, strayed, drug abuse, fear, sadness in so many complex layers. I wish people would understand that homelessness is one step away for anyone. One job lost. One broke down car. One family feud. One chemical imbalance. One broken heart away. There’s a lack of places like The Refuge. Somewhere where frequently unseen unnoticed invisible people can feel normal again. Deserving of a hot plate, a hot shower, somewhere to rest, companionship, resources, acknowledgment, greeting smiles, guidance, friendship and reminders of keeping your chin up because you deserve that. You deserve it all. I want to personally thank everyone at the Refuge. You help change direction and you help change lives and I am eternally grateful for all of you.”
“One of the best churches in the city. Everything was outstanding the choir the preaching and the church which is very beautiful inside and large. In Aurora Colorado the king Baptist Church if they're on a Sunday make sure you attend the services you'll be glad you did”

“If you need help they are there for you. You need prayer or someone just to talk to, they will listen to you. Major Mark is a great man of. God. Church on Sunday morning. Come check it out.”
“Since the moment I stepped foot into NUMC Mrs. Elaine has been my purpose for choosing to attend! She is beyond welcoming, sweet, kind, loving, empathetic & very excited for you to come hear the word of Christ by Rev. Tom! This is the 3rd Rev/Pastor since I've been attending & we lost our worship service in the morning which I'd love to see us bring back! I love the more upbeat, energetic, foot stomping, hands clapping or in the air worshipping, holy roller get up & praise towards our Heavenly Father type of worshipping!!! I believe NUMC has been one of the best Churches I've ever attended. It's been hard since I moved to the opposite end of the suburbs of Denver to attend but I do the best I can to get there! Thank you to Rev. Deb, Rev. Tom, Elaine & all the other unseen folks behind the scenes that have been here for my family & myself during some very scary & hard times I've been through. Without NUMC I wouldn't be where I am today having my own place, having a decently running truck for all my recycling (recently had to replace the water pump again which was under warranty thank goodness, do an oil change & we're fixin to change the front brakes soon. However, the lug nuts are stripped on the front driver side but we're just going to grind that cover part off to get to the actual lug nuts in order to get them off. But now we're waiting for no more snow & only -5° with the wind chill! I don't actually know the real wind chill temp but it's cold!) I do not know where I'd be without my loving Church family but mostly without my Heavenly Father who has His work cut out with me bc my life is never dull!! Lots of tears, fears, joys, achievements, Grace, humbleness & tons of Faith in God who promises to never leave us or forsake us!”
“Looking for a church for your kids! The youth pastor Wes is fantastic at engaging the youth! We've attended many of the events recently including a magic show, and Sunday morning service! Great people that love Jesus.”
