“Being one of the only places in Walsenburg where you can purchase cell phones, add money to an online bank such as Chime and Cash App, and purchase everyday essentials such as laundry soap and hygiene (i.e shampoo, body wash, toothpaste) the store is a critical staple for the community of Walsenburg. Located conveniently off of Main St and 7th St, the Dollar General is accessible, affordable and managed by friendly and easy going employees. I shop here constantly and always have a great experience. 5/5. Great job guys. Keep up the good work. ?”

“430 pm on Monday 7/10. Picking up dinner. Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. Customer in front of me is informed that they are out of gravy. I asked for gravy and I am informed of the same. I asked when they close, 6pm. I am also informed that they do not have any chicken breasts. The young man explained that they were not making any more because of the potential waste.. Another customer is told the same thing about chicken and gravy. The sides I did order did not have lids for the containers. The plastic wrap they used leaked. Very disappointed .. sometimes a business will ignore a review like this, and do nothing. This is not the case with First Choice owner and staff. I was immediately contacted. The issue was discussed and a solution applied. Every company has problems, few like First Choice take action. Thank you and great job Hugh and Mr Maldonado.”

“I'm a truck driver and pass through Walsenburg quite a bit and every time I pass through here, which is in the early evening, there is great customer service and very clean restrooms. They have a variety of liquor, snacks and some useful basic stuff in the corner behind the counter (antifreeze, oil, some common medicines, etc.). Very friendly service and very organized. It's a nice environment. There is diesel sold here but just not enough space for semi trucks, only smaller vehicles. Either way it's worth stopping here for any traveler, especially since there's a subway right next to it”
