The one problem I have with this place is you can never get a hold of someone. You have to leave message after message and you are lucky if they ever get back to you. When they do they are very nice and helpful but good luck getting in touch with one.

This place basically took my money after I was unable to check in. I went to go see John Summit (a daytime concert) in Vail. Their checking times are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We arrived in Vail at 1:00 p.m., but it was too early to check in, so my friend and I went to go have lunch, which just happened to be right next to the venue for the concert. The concert was scheduled to go from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. so we figured we would just go check in right after the show. However the show didn't end until 9:30 pm, and when we went to the hotel there was nobody at the front desk. There was a phone number to call, so I sat in the reception area for 15 to 20 minutes repeatedly calling the number, which nobody picked up. It was just an automatic message. I walked around trying to find somebody, but couldn't find anyone to help so we ended up having to drive back to Denver, an almost 3 hour drive, and we didn't get back until 12:30 at night, exhausted. I tried to reach out to the hotel and received a rude message back saying "had you called the number at the front desk you would have received instructions on how to check in", but I responded back that I called the number several times and at no point did I receive any instructions because nobody answered and there was no instructions on the automated line. They never responded back to me following this message. I tried to get a refund, at which point I was denied due to them requiring 72-hour advance notice for late checkins. Stay away from this place if you don't want to lose out on $525 per night because they have ridiculous check-in rules and are inconsiderate of circumstances that fall beyond these rules. I never got to see the inside of the rooms, but from what I saw from the lobby and the outside of the resort, it was old and outdated and overpriced anyway. You're basically paying an outrageous nightly rate because it's in Vail even though the aesthetic appeared worn down and in need of repair.

The perfect word to encapsulate the stay was “fine.”
The staff and shuttle drivers were great! Super friendly.
However- the rooms are pretty dismal. The first one I was given reeked of cigarettes, but upon request, the manager immediately switched me.
The new room was ok, but some repairs are in need. They’re easy and would make it feel less dingy.
The place really needs some TLC to be considered a moderately nice place to stay.
Rooms: Not updated- needs some love!

I love this place. It's definitely dated. You can tell it was built in the 60s. Think the movie Hot Tub Time Machine but in a good way. Terry at the front desk was extremely welcoming and very helpful. If you're a tourist like me and you don't know where to go you'd be crazy not to talk to him first. I'll be back again.

First of all, I would like to thank the personnel! Amazing customer service. The rooms are spacious and clean!
Unfortunately our room lost power and heating in the evening of second night, they fixed it fast, and for the heating brought us the portable heaters which worked out just fine! For the inconvenience we got reimbursed for the second night.
Then I forgot some stuff in the room upon leaving, and the lady from the staff was kind to give me a call about it, and then mailed it all the way to CA.
Most hotels just have friendly personnel that wouldn’t get out of the way to help, but Vail Run resort is more about actions:)
