Loved our stay. 30" of powder over the five days, fun in the hot tub and pool, solid breakfast, great staff, location, amenities. Hope to be back next year.

The location is great. The service was excellent. We loved the fresh baked cookies after skiing in the lobby. Parking is very easy for Vail, they have a garage under the hotel. And the Left Bank restaurant in the hotel is one of the nicest places in Vail.
But... until they have refurbished rooms, (which is planned) I'd stay away. Our room looked like it had last been updated in the 80's. It had a smell like old ski boots. It has a tiny 1960's bathroom and everything was well worn. The bed was surprisingly decent for such an old room, it was a memory foam, very firm. The best part of the room was imagining all the happy people that wore the room out by skiing over the years.
Our room also had a view of the creek, but the way they built the rooms in the old days, they didn't put in any windows to take advantage. What were architects thinking back then? We had a smallish french door and a nice little balcony.
The pool and hot tub area were easily 10 stars. Its on the 2nd floor, overlooking the village. It wasn't crowded and it looked like they just re-did it. It was super nice for a small hotel. Not that many rooms and a really nice pool and hot tub is a great combo.
I'd stay again once they renovate the rooms.

Steve, the owner of the Sitzmark, is so pleasant to work with. I work within a store two doors down from the hotel and he is always willing to let us use the hotel amenities, such as the bathroom and even the self serve coffee station. Great environment! Oh, and you can’t forget the cookies that they bake every day at 4pm, they’re delicious.

Just returned from another terrific vacation at the Sitz. We’ve been coming to Vail for over 20 years and it has become our favorite place to stay. Unbeatable location, pool, hot tub, and complimentary breakfast. Staff makes it feel like home. The lobby and penthouse were recently renovated and all rooms are being renovated this year. We will be staying at the Sitz for years to come.

I just got back from staying 4 days in the penthouse apartment. The remodel is exquisite! The new ownership is doing a great job of keeping the charm that we have come to know from the Sitzmark with the modern amenities and finishings of a 5 start resort. I can't wait to come back when the rest of the hotel finished its remodel!
Nearby activities: Plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby.
Walkability: Steps away from Gondola 1.

We stayed here this past weekend. It was so nice to be able to walk to gondola 1 so easily. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Dani at the front desk even worked with us when we had to check back in as the roads closed. The beds and pillows are great, so important for a hotel. I will stay here again any chance I get. Great place.

We love the Sitzmark - stayed there over Christmas and have also stayed here during summer. We love that it is locally owned and not by a corporation, so it feels much more personal. Staff there is super helpful and many have been there a long time. Location is terrific, they have renovated lobby and will be renovating rooms in late spring. We have been coming to Vail for a long time and have stayed many places - this is our favorite and wish we would have found this place sooner! Rooms have more space considering it is located right in the village. Highly recommend.
Rooms: Rooms have great space for Vail Village
Walkability: Great location - easily walkable to everything!

We know we overpaid, but during the holidays there are not a lot of options so we were willing to pay for the location, which is great!
The "free breakfast" was some fruits and danishs, coffee or tea, and juice so maybe not a family kind of place?
The staff was super nice, but it would be great if they spoke in English in front of guests. We didn't mind too much as my wife is not from the USA, but I could tell the other guests were not comfortable because they didn't understand what the staff was saying and I overheard a woman say "is she talking about us?".
Parking is a premium, so don't bring a large SUV as the garage space is tight - $45 per night to park underground or $60 to park on the street.
The room was ok and what you would expect for a 3 star place - if you want location, this is your place.

Terrific location! We had such a great week staying at the Sitzmark. Solid breakfast, friendly staff, all the amenities our family needed. We loved the in room espresso/coffee machine. An easy walk to the gondola we maximized our vacation skiing all day and thoroughly enjoyed our room and relaxed each evening in the mountain facing hot tub and pool. Our family loved it so much we can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

This is a very old hotel right in the center of Vail Village. Consider it a Holiday Inn with excellent service. However it is very expensive. The rooms are old and small, the doors are light and hollow, the furniture is very beat up, the bathrooms are tiny and very dated. The service here is so exceptional, especially for Vail, that I see why it is always full capacity. Adam was very kind, patient and accommodating at the front desk. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast but fresh and clean. The cleaning crew was always working and did an excellent job keeping the hotel clean. This hotel uses a very very strong smelling deodorizer and it gave my guests and I a headache upon entering the room. Once we aired the room out, it was much more pleasant. The swimming pool is small but the hot tub is nice and hot. I would stay here again if the price was much, much cheaper because of it's location. However for the price we paid I would pick the Grand Hyatt or the Four Seasons next time.Nearby activities: It is on the pedestrian walking path in Vail Village.

I highly recommend the Sitzmark Lodge. The rooms are comfortable, clean & beautiful. I had a small balcony with a wonderful view! They are in the process of renovating their lobby but they gave me ample notice about this (even without a lobby, they are doing a great job of making the check-in process easy). I would like to give a big thank you to Steve who went out of his way to help me when I checked out. I had reserved an Uber the day before to take me to Eagle Regional Airport. Unbeknownst to me, that doesn’t guarantee you a ride and so shortly before my reserved time, Uber said they couldn’t find me a driver. Steve took my bag for me and we raced over to the Vail Village Transportation Center. When we arrived, I called the cab company but they were completely booked. While I was calling, Steve went to the bus station and found out that the city bus could get me there on time (with 5 minutes to spare:) Steve went above & beyond to make sure I caught my flight and I am very grateful. In addition to Steve, the entire staff was friendly & helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and the location can’t be beat!!

This hotel was centrally located. The staff was amazing. We were able to get a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the creek and a great view of the mountains. There was also a free breakfast, unlike another hotel that charged $20.
