I’m staying here every time I come to Southfork. Quiet place. Friendly people. I have three kids and they loved it as well.
Thank u !
Rooms: Rooms are older but nice and peaceful. I couldn’t find one thing wrong with it .
Nearby activities: Lots of swimming, fishing , walking, hiking , atv trails , you name it.
Safety: I felt safe . Kids walked around and people say hi.
Walkability: U can walk to the store or several other places .
Noteworthy details: If u want to spend time in a place where they say “yes maam” and “thank you” and there are just genuine friendly good people then I suggest u come here.

Knocked on the office door because it was locked. I asked the woman who answered if she was busy and her reply was “yes I’m in the middle of something.” Good thing we didn’t have a reservation or wanted to stay. Very rude.

It was my birthday weekend and Suzette (host) had a rose and bottle of sparkling grape juice on table when we walked into our cabin! What a nice gesture. We loved our stay and the area is so beautiful. Cabins were comfy and used the fans to stay nice and cool. Thank you Suzette and Dave , we look forward to coming back soon. ????

I cannot recommend this place enough. If I could give a thousand stars I would. These guys are so warm and welcoming. The cabins are lovely. Everything about our experience here immediately made it feel like a home away from home. The views around the cabin are beautiful. There’s a small walking trail right out front. Beautiful lakes near by. Rio grande within walking distance. The deer were my favorite part. At one point there were a herd of 20 out front. These guys deserve to be your first choice if you’re considering a stay in South Fork!!

David and Suzette were some of the best hosts you could come across! The cabin was top notch, in great shape - quiet and more than you could ask (We stayed in Cabin 1 from around the time of may 28-June 4 2023) . The area was amazing as well. But, the surrounding areas is not what just made this place beautiful, but it was having hosts like David and Suzette. They took the time out to bring my 2 daughters some small toys to keep them occupied during the downtime at the cabin the first night we were there. They also took the time out to highlight all the best places around to visit and fish and we checked out each one of them. We were so happy that we extended our stay for another 2-3 nights. There just wasn’t enough time in the day. I also had a small mishap of my dog chewing up the trim board of the door, and they were so understanding about it. Completely embarrassed about the situation. I’ll be looking into boarding my pups next time it looks like! That was the only downfall of the entire experience. It happened on our last day. I couldn’t believe it. But But thank you for everything David and Suzette, you guys are the most welcoming people I have came across in the entire state of Colorado out of my small year to two of being here. I can’t wait to visit again and have more conversations with you guys.. Y’all are the best. Thanks for having us-Matt AbbottRooms: The rooms were very clean and tidy! Wood planks to give you the absolute rustic experience. The wall decor was great choices, and marched everything about adventuring, mountains and cabins.Nearby activities: There’s too much to describe here. But a short 7min walk is the Rio grande. I caught 3 trout under the bridge there. There’s plenty of places to see such as Creede co, lake city co. The alpine loop, slumgullion peak, Cimarron pass, pagosa springs, many waterfalls, rafting, rail biking on the railroads, ice climbing, mountain climbing, ATV off roading. You name it, they got it!Walkability: There is an amazing trail that leads out both directions of the cabin. One end takes you towards the rio grande and ends across the RR tracks where you can walk further along the rio grande until you’re ready to turn Around. The other direction leaving the cabin takes you towards the town. Amazing walk trail, I walked my dogs everyday on it. We also saw many deerFood & drinks: Many great places to eat Around here such as Ramons, mountain taproom, twin rivers BBQ, small burger stands and much more.

The Cabin was just what we needed for our family of 6 for a quick family ski trip! We stayed in Cabin 4 and it was fantastic. Very clean and had all we needed for our stay! The owners made the stay even better. They were always available and very informative. Our batteries ended up dying in our truck and the owner helped us out and pointed us in the right direction for new ones. They also called us later that night to check on us to make sure we got new batteries! Great customer service. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

We have been coming to SFLRV for years and I just thought to look on yelp to see if I had ever reviewed it. I find the reviews and pictures on yelp almost comical. I don't think any of the cabins look like that anymore. I believe they have replaced almost all the furniture and mattresses in every cabin. Campground has new wifi that pings in sub 45 ms range with 80 down and 15 up. Appliances are all new, toilets are new. Owners said new windows will go in this fall. The rv park has stable 20/30/50 amp towers, great water pressure and most sites are huge. When they are booked they will try to find ya a spot even if it's cramped. Book early to avoid that. They are one only a few hospitality business that use medical grade ozone machines in the rooms like at a hospital. Ski lodge, off-road basecamp, fishing or hunting there isn't a better spot in South Fork.
